I found the lore of the Morton Salt lady! She was created in 1914 after their slogan in 1911 “when it rains, it pours” Salt used to clump and have trouble pouring in rainy weather. So in 1911, they added magnesium carbonate as an absorbing agent-so the salt can still pour in rainy weather. So that’s why they picked a girl wearing a rain coat with an umbrella to show “when it rains, it pours”. Like when it rains, our salt still pours. Fun fact!!

Just wanted to add if you don't have a rice cooker the 5-5-5 method is best way to cook rice: 5 minutes on high to bring rice to a boil after turn heat down to a medium flame an wait another 5 minutes and after turn down to a simmer and set time for 5 more minutes If you set the flame and don't change the temp as the rice cooks the rice will cook too fast like it did lol I love Brittany cooking videos!!❤❤

The finger method is a hit or miss cuz some rice cookers and rice brands sometimes require more/less than what the finger method shows as well as everyone fingers are different lengths😅 i just use a little 1 ounce scooper for the rice and the water, its close to 1:1 but the last scoop of water is slightly less than the full ounce.

stovetop white rice tips for brittany... 1. wash the rice several times until the water is CLEAR 2. add water until it comes to your first knuckle on your index finger - TRUST ME 3. salt the water!!!! 4. bring the water to boil lid off, then put on low with lid on 5. no touch no stir no lift lid off 6. plz use a non scratchy tool to keep your nonstick coating safe - it's toxic chemicals and also just ruins your pan and food

I'm here to assuage some fears. You will be fine if you ingest bits of teflon. No, really! The reason teflon (nonstick coating) is non-stick is because it's incredibly inert. It doesn't chemically react with basically any biological material, which is why food doesn't stick to it. As a result, it also won't react with your gut/body and will pass through you without doing much of anything. That said, it is of course still best practice to take care of your nonstick tools, primarily so that they stay useful for cooking! But don't panic if you notice a couple chips of the coating missing. You'll be fine, and you can even continue to cook with the pot or pan if you like.

Well Japan annexed Korea. It was brutal but during that time, there were many influences on Korean culture from the Japanese. It was not only on food but also the language too since they tried to erase the Korean language. My grandma was alive during that time and she told me how the school curriculum was changed.
@liyaozsoyler7 ай бұрын
Nah, you are right both of egg dishes that she mentioned are Japanese. It is not Kim-chi or Gimpab, I'm not sure where she got that idea. A small google search would've helped before posting a video.
@남자는뭐자신감6 ай бұрын
she talked about this in her podcast and i was listening to it like, isn't she describing omurice?? she was also talking about traditional korean breakfast always having eggs and eggs in reference being omurice and i sat there kinda confused, "traditional" korean breakfast would be like soup, banchan (probably leftovers), and rice. sometimes some sort of fish or egg for protein, but not anything as complicated as omurice. the gyeran mari/tamagoyaki thing is most likely due to japanese colonization though.
@somiya7776 ай бұрын
There isn't a specific korean traditional breakfast. It's usually rice and some banchan. And among the banchan, the gyeran malee is often part of it. Sure omurice is Japanese but koreans eat it a lot too.

Why the hell am I already up before 12 and watching this? I'm literally a 25 yo gay man waking up from a night of edible gooning at the early early hour of 12 pm just to instantly play Slay the Spire and watch Britney Broski..... Slay

What is edible gooning 😶 I'm a straight 33yo woman who lost my job as a restaurant manager recently and have gotten into the habit of staying in bed too late in the mornings watching KZbin vids If anyone reads this and has job/career suggestions for me, drop them here! I simply cannot work in restaurants anymore my soul got sucked

@@shannonceleste5557hi! I work in construction marketing and construction has many career options! I suggest looking up general contractors in your area or trade subcontractors! Never thought I’d be in construction and now I love it :)

@@shannonceleste5557 it's a sexual thing. It's a joke mostly. It's uuuuh....edging I guess you can say. Haha. I too have a similar situation. Anxiety has me staying in the house. I don't make friends and I typically just watch KZbin and play games when I'm alone. Childhood trauma really messed me up. Haha. But we are all strong as hell bitches. We got the looks and the charisma girl! I am having big break throughs this year(bc of edibles I'm not even gonna lie. Helps keep me from hyperventilating)

bestie i have the perfect and easiest rice recipe for you! 🍙 this never fails for me 1. measure out 3/4 cup of rice 2. wash rice until it runs clear (protip - if you're struggling with losing rice down the drain, rinse the rice in a sieve!) 3. pour in 1 1/4 cup of water in the pot with the rice and season with salt 4. heat until boiling with the lid off 5. once boiling, turn the burner to low and put the lid on 6. let simmer for 18 minutes EXACTLY and DON'T TOUCH IT 7. you have perfect fluffy rice congrats!

I used to LOVE eating over at my Korean friend’s house when I was in junior high. Her Mom always had rice in the rice cooker, her homemade kimchi ready to eat and she always would invite me for dinner. She was the best cook I swear!
