You're awesome I'm so glad you share this with everyone! I have a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old too so its been an AMAZING gift to you find you!!! One thing I'd like to see if you could share, is how do you manage time to make your meals done such as lunch and dinner and still have time for schooling the littles? I've been struggling with that because once my 1 yr old goes for a nap is when I'm able to dedicate the time to teach my 3 yr old, but I always have a hard time because because many times I end up having to cut that time in half so I can start getting dinner ready. I end up frustrated at the end of the day because don't know if I should just go to sleep or meal prep for the next day lol!! Also, what time do YOU go to bed momma?? I saw you were up and ready before 7, I go to sleep late getting my lessons ready for the next day lol!! Thank you in advance
@BrittanyLynnHomeschool
@BrittanyLynnHomeschool 5 жыл бұрын
Cristina Ontiveros Zeigler first of all, thank you for such a nice comment! Us mamas of littles have to stick together! I am very simple with my Meals to be honest, the girls are really Picky so there aren’t a lot of options that they will eat. And for dinners, I try to cook enough so I don’t have to prepare a meal everyday. I cook about 2 days worth of dinners at a time. I used to meal prep on sundays. I would Make about 4 days worth of food at a time and that was a big help! Maybe also look into easy crock pot dinners. You can throw it all in the crock pot in the morning and not worry about it until it’s time to eat! That’s a great video idea though. I’ll see about making something like that in the future! As far as bedtime, I go to bed anywhere between 10pm-1am. It depends on if my lessons are ready for the next day or if I have a video to edit and upload. 😂 then I wake up at 5:30 and start the day all over again. 😴

Brittany Lynn oh my! I’m glad I’m not the only one going to bed so late getting lessons ready lol!! I need to find something to keep me going throughout the next day since coffee will have no effect on me haha! And, yes, totally going to try cooking larger dinners more often :D. Thank you for sharing! I’ll stay tuned! Have an awesome day!

Hi! Can you talk about your opinion on kids watching TV? Like should we get rid of TV completely or having it as an activity on the side. My daughter is turning 3 and son just turned half year old. Your channel is very helpful! Thank you!!!

Hi there! Thanks for watching! I think everyone has a different opinion on TV for their kids. Find what works best for you. For our family, we allow about an 30 minutes to an hour of TV per day, and it is usually in the afternoon when they need some wind down time so I can make dinner. I have noticed that they don't listen as well and act up a little more if they are watching too much TV. We also highly monitor the things they watch.

Hi Brittany appreciate your patience and efforts. Pls advice my 3year old daughter still learning numbers and phonics. What writing skill I should teach her? From readmama I took tracing prints for alphabet is ok for her? What scissors skill I should teach first to master? Your advice will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

@@BrittanyLynnHomeschool thank you so much for the handwriting links. These printables are going to change the game for my son because he dreads handwriting because he struggles with copying the letters and making sure that they look exactly the way he sees them on the handout. So I'm trying to encourage him that he doesn't have to write perfect but to give his best effort to practice handwriting. I can already see how motivated he will be once we add the pages to his practice. I love thisreadingmama too, but haven't browsed all of her resources because I'm trying to stick to being as minimal of a homeschooler as possible. I can get super printable and curriculum happy lol. Thanks so much for sharing your journey. I'm so excited to get started with our first year to finally LEGALLY homeschool our 5yo even though I have been teaching our son since he was 18 months old. He started reading at 2 1/2 so I totally loved how you shared how you taught your daughter how to read by 3yo. Your daughter is super adorable and truly advanced and reminds me so so much of my son when he was her age! I believe if you cultivate a rich and meaty learning environment children will naturally soak it all up with minimum effort from the parents. Parents become more of a facilitator of their child's interests to learn whatever they want with the benefits and total freedom of homeschooling. Our son learned how to read from the tons of read alouds that we would do together. One day everything just clicked for him and he was able to decode the words and he started reading all on his own. I thought that he had memorized the book, but he was reading a book that we never read before and my mouth dropped and my mind was blown! I didn't formally teach him anything in the area of reading. I didn't have sight word drills with him or flashcards or a reading curriculum, all we did nonstop was simply read books. We also read all kinds of books and not just books for his age. I believe some children can just naturally pick up certain skills EARLY if provided the opportunity and environment and they will pick up more skills later on along the way. Reading just happened to be a early skill that my son picked up but handwriting is a skill that doesn't come easy to him and he is picking it up with encouragement and daily practice along the way. So I'm so thankful that my husband advocated for us to homeschool because I was totally foreign to the homeschool world, but after much prayer and research, I love it! I fashion our curriculum after our son's learning style. He is a kinesthetic and auditory learner so he has to be super hands-on in every aspect. He is still 5yo emotionally but intellectually since he learns so quickly his learning resources are between a 1st & 2nd grade level even though I could care less about grade levels. He wants to be a future scientist so I have to deal with tons of science experiments even though the mess afterwards makes me cringe for the lifespan of our home lol. We also have a 3yo who I will start lessons with as well she has a totally different learning style from her brother and she didn't show any interest early learning, but now she wants to have lessons like her brother. She catches on fast too and can pretty much learn what her brother learns but at her level. That's another benefit of homeschool is that the children after the firstborn can learn more quickly because the firstborn becomes the teacher too. I love seeing our 5yo teaching his younger siblings. And our 11 month old twins whom will be 1yo Wednesday will get their own little routine with flashcards and sensory activities. Today, I caught them repeating the letter sounds and they can barely talk! But they are always sitting in on our circle time so they love the songs and memory work that we do together. We are big fans of flashcards too. You're doing so awesome with your children! Yeah for homeschooling!
@BrittanyLynnHomeschool
@BrittanyLynnHomeschool 5 жыл бұрын
Wow that is great your son has caught on to reading so easily! you're right, some children just have an easier time than others. But, I'm the same. I believe learning can be just a way of living. I love reading to my girls and learning through play all day long. It sounds like you are going to be set up for a great year of homeschooling. I'm excited for you and your family! Best of luck to you and I hope those hand writing sheets are a great addition to your studies together!

all kids are different. if there is a lot of push back, then don't force it. I started teaching Leilah from the time she was a baby. But we mostly played educational games and when she was done with it, she was done. Eventually her attention span got longer.
