Thanks Matt!! This topic was an issue during Ian, Took the IA firm a bit of time to confirm with the carrier how to handle brittleness testing.

Thanks, Matt. My takeaway is that I should approach each claim with an eye toward replacing everything I can given two caveats. One, I have to build a physical case for replacement that matches the carrier guidelines. And two, if I have any doubt about my physical case I need to involve someone above me. That's incredibly different from showing up on site and feeling like you need to be the expert. That kind of thinking is anxiety producing and I have no doubt it leads to conflict. Because I've never been deployed I don't know what's expected or how much support will be available. Outside the chaos of the storm, it sounds like everything will be fine and that's great. Thanks.

Most carriers dont even let you perform a BT anymore. Its fight like hell to replace a roof for wind damage unless your if florida or a state with strict ordinance.

Thanks for the video. 3 questions. 1. Do you use anything to stick the shingle back after the brittle test? 2. How do you argue against the adjusters who say “yes you can find a match but the color wont fully match because is a different lot number and the sun has been beating on the roof for 2 to 3 years changing the original roof color so it wont march the new one” 3. What do you do is the roof already has a tarp nailed in? Thanks in advance!
