Science. It works exactly the opposite for short people. They have higher pitched voices. This is true in most, if not all, species on earth. A Chihuahua has a high-pitched, shrill bark, while a mastiff has a deep, booming bark. Look at videos of a lion cub's roar versus a full grown lion's roar.
