In 1972 I tried out for the Grade 6 boys soccer team, because there wasn’t a girls team. 3 of us girls made the team, I played in my good shoes, because I didn’t have sneakers, we lost our 1st game and were eliminated from the competition. It was great fun, I’m not sure our parents were even there ..probably because they were working. At 11 or 12 all my brain was thinking about was fun and friends and fresh air. As liberal as I am, I don't believe that after a man transitions into a women, he/she should be allowed to whip women in women's sports. I do, however, believe that human beings should have the right to transition if they think it will make them happy. As long as you have reached the legal age of adulthood in your State (18 years old in most States), then you should be free to make this decision if you think it will bring you happiness. And while there is no guarantee that transitioning will bring you happiness, I hope that it does. And I hope that others treat you with dignity and respect and do not bully you for transitioning. One simple solution is to create 4 categories for sports: Men who stay men Women who stay women Men who transition into women Women who transition into men Admittedly, categories 3 and 4 above would have a very small number of participants, but that is the only fair way to do it.
