I do think it’s important to discuss family dynamics though. I need to know if he’s a momma’s boy, how much meddling he’d allow his parents to do, etc. Things like this, finances, religious beliefs, and all things related to children needs to be discussed before engagement.

Get that talk out the wah before you even start being serious. And trust, if they lie, you'll see it eventually. Being financially responsible/irresponsible aren't things you can easily hide from a person serious about keeping their finances in check. I dealt w/ 1 in my younger years. The last straw was when he casually asked if I could cover his rent since i could 😂. Yup, never again.

I'm not sure if Joe knew what his parents (or mom) were going to do, but I don't think he would have tried to stop them. I think Joe was a very passive person with no ambition, happy to work for and live off of his parents and be controlled by them. I don't think he personally cared about his son, either. Poor Alexandra ... if it seems to good to be true, it usually is. :( RIP Alexandra!

I am a mom now myself and I totally feel this way. I've seen it though with my mom. How spiteful some parents can be. She chose to stick by my dad who's helped her endure a miserable life from cheating, creating outside kids & treating her like a second class citizen. She'd try to get in my business to see where im headed in life in hopes i'd be like her. She's bitter & stays in her marriage due to pride & the "atleast i have a husband" mentality. She has hated seeing me thrive & Its disturbing. How are you mad that your child chooses to thrive in life so they won't be like you? She has enabled my old sibling to be dependent on her & controls his life, bank account included. Hes 35 but you wouldnt know it with how hes accepted being emasculated bu my mom. Some ppl are just miserable. I stay clear of both my parents.

As a mom I just want them to find someone to love them unconditionally and build a great life with. I also get to spend time with them and their SOs which means my family is growing and I love it. I also dont have to worry about them as much and I get to focus more on myself and my husband and our marriage. I'm sorry that's happened to you. Your mom's loss. There desperately needs to be a change in the laws about stalking. I’m so sick of coming across cases where people know they’re being stalked and go to the police and the police basically tell them well until this person hurts you we can’t do anything. Like imagine just having to wait until this person decides to physically do something to you possibly even kill you to then have the police help it’s maddening and it needs to change. Joe definitely knew, I had horrible in-laws too, very controlling and they thought they could "share" everything, so my father in law sa me, when he was taken to court the whole family knew what he had done, but openly denied it and tried to blacken my name. He ended up pleading guilty. God rest that poor girl and I hope Brandon has a brilliant life despite what his father's family did to him ❤

This one is trippy, with how close Joe was with his mom, I do believe that there was a hint of what his mom would do but he would never stand against her - her way or the highway type of thing; and as far as Alexandra she knew something was wrong but nothing could be done at that time.....Just screwed up; thank you for sharing this Brittney - much love to you.

Honestly we need more people like the friend&roommate; there’s wayyy to many people not speaking up or helping officers with things like this because of various reasons; love that they immediately gave the goods bc if more people were open with police we’d have a lot more solved cases, but that also goes along with the fact that police have not made themselves the most trustworthy and approachable people; i wish there was a better connection with police and civilians but the bad police will never let that happen for society

The guilt of not standing up for her when she was his wife and thereafter ate him alive and the best thing, he could have done for his son was to leave him right where he was.

We had a murder like that near me, the mother-in-law was the mastermind and her terminally ill husband sacrificed his own life to gun down their ex-daughter-in-law right at the courthouse. I finally caught one of your videos that were just posted. I have been binge watching your videos for the past month. I even watch while I’m driving, I know it’s dangerous but I put it on my car radio. Love you and Blu and Bella. Where did you get them? I think Joe knew, whether indirectly or not. I'd say his mom told him to have a clear alibi at a certain time and even if she didn't say it explicitly I'd say he knew deep down what she was organising. It's extra sad because it sounds like he was so passive he just let it happen, like it's unclear if he also hated Alexandra, it doesn't sound like it though, so if Yelka had just left them alone whether they all would have moved on.

Let me say a man’s mother is the worst!! I had to run, with three children and I left him the house, everything in it and the car that I’d bought. His mother still bitches about me to my now adult children. You can’t win with mother in laws like this. Also when I was pregnant with our third child, he was having an affair with a teenager! His mother bought him a new car so he could stay with this teenager easier. He was in his late 30s! But his father was a mason, so we had no chance.

Yes! I don’t trust my man’s mother because she’s called me hateful names for no reason. She has called me b*tch, c*nt, piece of a**, she’s accused me of alienating him from his family (after he cut her off for badmouthing me,) and she thought they would have a normal relationship after all the horrible things she’s said about me. The only reason we can think that she would hate me so much, is because I stood in between him and his sister when his sister lived with us and tried to assault my man. Like okay be mad that I kept your kids from fighting but why does that make me all of those horrible things. I also think it has a lot to do with the fact that I booted her off of his bank account. Sorry but I’m not having this woman in our financial business. That’s one of the most sacred parts of a relationship. She even made jokes from the beginning of our relationship, telling me to stand at the end of the family pictures in case they ever needed to “cut me out.” Like excuse me? Just because you’ve been divorced twice doesn’t mean that’s in the cards for everybody. I think when a man gets married, Mom needs to butt out. I only hear from my mom once a week for a little check in. This woman was calling him three times a day 😐 before he left for work (which was annoying because that was when I wanted to spend time with him,) during his lunch break, and on his way home. Anytime I needed to call him to pick up something on his way home, he would have to call me back because she would complain about him hanging up to “tend to me.” Never will I understand that kind of relationship. My parents are there when I need them, they don’t intrude on my adult life. I had to break him out of her brainwashing. I mean seriously, what kind of 25 year old needs their mom to monitor their bank account?

But she would have had to quit her job, leave her friends and family... and as a single Mom with a "tiny human in tow", that is five times as hard. I'm really mad about this, too, so useless! Stupid Jelca, what did she think would happen? Alexandra murdered openly and then she, Jelca, getting to raise her grandson in everlasting bliss? She must've seen herself as some sort of Mafia Godmother.
