The man started the party with no limp, came back with a limp. Had a thing for Arpana, most likely was not reciprocated. His dna was on the motor oil used to cover her body, he made phone calls to her that same night, lived right next door, but didn't hear the breaking in. But he was for sure certain the sex sounds were consensual? And on top of that, the most important thing to notice was that he tried to ESCAPE to Canada! CJ did it! He did it and the cops let him get away with it.

I have done a lot of culture studies, written a thesis about females in popular movies and I would bet that these police just could not bring themselves to punish a white guy for doing whatever he wants with a brown woman, no matter how much smarter she was... purely by being a white male he is so far above her in their estimation, to grant him immunity is the obvious thing for them to do. So ugly, so dumb...

This whole case is sus. I agree with so many others. That the neighbour, Cameron Johnson, insists that the sounds were DEFINITELY consensual, smacks of misleading. How is CJ so sure from the next side of the wall but didn't hear any sounds of murder or the door being kicked in? Also you're intoxicated and went home but were wake for ALL of that? Emmanuel may not have been the one to kill Arpana, but I'm glad he had to sit in jail for 9 years as the suspect. Serves him right for only getting 3 measly years for what he did to that 15 year old girl. As for Arpana's case, I'm almost certain that Cameron was the killer.

I remember this case. We were living in Kirkland at the time which is bordering Redmond. They are both small suburbs of Seattle. Beautiful place to live, to be honest. It is so frustrating that the likely murderer is still roaming free. I hope he is not in Redmond anymore. What really breaks my heart is that her family was so far from her when she was murdered. They hadn't seen her since their last visit. I do admire her adventurous spirit and that she bought herself a motorcycle. Good for Arpana! Redmond PD doesn't have many murder cases. The population of Redmond in 2018 was 65,827 and the murder rate was 1.52 % per 100,000. I had to look it up because I had a feeling the police weren't used to handling this kind of investigation. This case was screwed up from the beginning. I wouldn't be surprised if race played a part. My husbands family is Desi, his family immigrated from India to the states right before he was born. He also worked in Redmond for a major tech company. I can't count how many times he has been pulled over and ticketed or given a warning for ridiculous things, often times by the same motorcycle cop. He finally hired an attorney after the last incident.

I think it is ridiculous yet very sadly predictable that they let that Cameron guy go free when he had cause, opportunity, motive and means to carry out this crime. He was also quick to say he heard the intercourse and said it sounded “consensual”… why would that be something anyone would say? Especially after just finding out a friend and neighbour had been murdered… he should be behind bars.
