britt she not only wrote this she sketched out all the scenes...uncle mike and sis juliette portraying angelina and her grandfather...angelina's grandfather knew he was dying and told angelina he would be watching her from the moon...they were so close...angelina took the last belt to a new level on her live concerts at kongsberg and kurbadhagen....

Absolutely heart felt phenomenal performance from our barefoot Viking , Not Angelina’s first original but her first original when Angelina signed with Republic Records aged 14 years old, Angelina wrote Million Miles as tribute to her Grandfather who passed away and to anyone who has lost a loved one, There is a studio version a video version and an artist version where Angelina’s grandmother did the painting, great reaction thanks 🙏 absolutely love this song , Angelina is not only an amazing vocalist she is a talented intelligent songwriter too!

Thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of Angelina's artistry. She did indeed write this song as a tribute to her grandfather. We can not only hear her beautiful voice, but can also deeply FEEL her emotional delivery. Having lost my wife a few years ago, I listen to this song every day. It always brings me to tears - but that is followed by immense comfort. She was 14 here, but IMHO her performance last year live in concert in Norway was even more incredible: "Angelina Jordan Million Miles - Live at Kongsberg 2022". Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.

In the video, when Angelina is sitting under the tree writing in her notebook, if you zoom in on the notebook after the page turns, you can see they lyrics as she wrote them. Angelina's favorite person on Earth is her grandmother Mery and Angelina wrote this song for Mery's husband who was Japanese and a very kind and compassionate man. Million Miles is a sad song, yet very catchy and provides hope by reminding us that we are never alone with the memories of loved ones who have passed.

Angelina is not just the best singer I’ve ever heard, but also an amazing musician and lyricist. One of her special talents is so evident here: she’s not performing like many other vocalists- she’s singing to you, and the connection is personal and immediate. We share her loss with those we’ve had in our own lives, but even then, her message is positive. We’re never alone… You had comments turned off for another Angelina reaction today: I’m Still Holding Out for You. Yes, it’s a hidden treasure that was never released, but is extraordinary. You commented on how you heard Angelina, the vocal artist, rather than the child prodigy. You’re actually right and wrong about that. Those stunning vocals are from 11 year old Angelina in a recording studio. Just spectacular.

With the pandemic at its height, Angelina dedicated this to everyone who had lost someone close but her inspiration was her grandpa. The original video she put out was an animation drawn jointly by Angelina and her grandmother but that version seems not to have found favour with the relevant KZbin algorithm compared to this one and the live in the studio performance video. As touching as this was, her cover of Willie Nelson's Always On My Mind, which she dedicated to her other grandfather a couple of years earlier, is more difficult for me to watch while simultaneously addictive.

Yes this video is a family affair, with Uncle Mike and Sister Juliette playing the part of the younger Angelina and Grandpa. I feel that this song helped Angelina to get signed with Republic Records. This was from when Angelina was 14, last summer, at her concerts in Norway, she sang this live - it was at an even higher level of emotional expression - I'm no expert, but I recon that very few artists can give a performance in front of an audience, even an outdoor setting, that is much better than the studio version. I was at the July 10th concert - this song along with others that night , will still be buzzing in my head for many years to come!

@@brittreacts , yes, the live performance from August this past summer is an absolute must! She slows it down considerably, making it even more emotional. I've read from those who were in attendance there that there was hardly a dry eye in the audience when she finished! Britt, when AJ was a little girl, her japanese grandfather took her with him into Oslo, where he helped the homeless community with food and sometimes a job. The streets saw her growing up, On her social media she told about her grandpa. Today she does the same in LA, by chance one of the angels saw her on TV in the background of a documentaion about the homwless community in LA. She does not like it, to show how much she cares. As a Nordic (Icelandic) I take some pride in the fact that Angelina is half Swedish and raised in Norway, which is no doubt instrumental in shaping this exceptionally emphatic human being. Her musical talents are entirely her own, but we Nordics have a stake in the rest of what this extraordinary human being is, how her "Shield" (her family and friends) are important as well. Even more important is Angelina's multi-cultural background - Japanese grandfather (the subject of this song), Iranian grandmother (Angelina's greatest musical influence, the one that introduced her to the kind of music Angelina is now mastering).

Angelina has always seemed to know what she's doing, from a technical and musical knowledge perspective, and she knows what she wants, from how the music is supposed to sound to where she's going in life. The writing she does at the start of the "I Put a Spell on You" studio performance is her making notes for the band on the sheet music-at nine! She's the true definition of a prodigy. Here's the link to a live performance of "Shield," another original from a few years ago. I could definitely imagine it in a Bond movie. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooLXhpWMgMdjrNU

Yes this is an Angelina original about her grandfather who died. The little girl is indeed her younger sister, Juliette. Angelina has a live studio version of this that is amazing .. done simply and magnificently with piano and cello. I recommend it .. the purity of her music and words stand alone and elegantly. Her grief beautifully put to music. Another original is SHIELD .. please check it out. Powerful. I think of it as a prayer .. I've read others who see it as a thank you to her grandmother (Grandma Mery) and her mother. I like that it can be both. Then there's 7th HEAVEN, the most recent (hopefully there are some new ones in the record that should be dropped soon.) .. which is a jazzy piece with lyrics that are positive and fun. There is a video also but i love the live studio one best. (I feel guilty saying that! .. both are worth seeing. ) Her first original is truly lovely also: WHAT IS LIFE? .. and she has another which is an homage to OSLO .. the city where she grew up, which is rather classical to me. Thanks for your wonderful reactions!

"I'm still holding out for you", is probably the best Leaked song I've ever heard.. A beautiful big R&B song. And a new side of Angelina you haven't heard yet. 👍 🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴

The little girl in the clip is Juliette, Angelina's younger sister. Angelina adores her. Juliette appears in several of Angelina's clips, including suspicious minds along with a cousin who is youngest. I adore Juliette, think of how difficult it would be growing up as Angelina's little sister.

@BrittReacts really enjoy your reactions to AJ....Her sister appears in some of her music especially suspicious minds......I am a big Barbra Streisand fan. However, AJ voice is so stunning and mesmerising It gets me everything. But the Million Miles in Norway is beautiful. Thank you for replying. Xx from Ireland..

@Britt, on your other AJ reaction, 'I'm still holding on to you', the reactions are turned of. There is an incredible live version of this song as well which has been slowed down a bunch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmrHh3prhcykb9E

Angelina jordan wrote this song at 14. Think about this. What was I doing at 14? What were you doing at 14? Middle school playing Jack's? Pickup stick? Dolls? That was her sister Juliette Hail to the queen of jazz and chills

Woh, woh, woh, woh; A TALENT AGENT IN YOUR PAST LIFE? What, were in a teenager? I have watched all your Angelina videos and I thought you were a talented singer yourself, yes? Is this particular video I think the editor should have recieved some kind of award. Thanks for being you! Joe Logsdon & Company, KZbin

Every version of this song is special. Because it is so personal to Angelina, she sings. It differently each time depending on her current emotional state. Her live at Norway is really emotional.
