The Blue Collar Comedy Tour was actually inspired by Kings of Comedy. The story goes that Jeff Foxworthy read an article or saw an advertisement, one or the other, about Kings of Comedy. It said that it was “the comedy show for the hip, young, urban audience”. And he then called Bill Engvall and told him that this left a lot of people out. And thus Blue Collar Comedy Tour was conceived. Jeff, Bill and Ron White were all there from the beginning. However, Larry the Cable Guy joined later after the original fourth member, a man named Craig Hawksley, left the tour. And most of them ARE actually southern. Jeff is from Georgia, while Bill and Ron are both from Texas. Larry however, is from Nebraska and is a huge Cornhuskers fan. Though he did spend a part of his youth in Florida.
