Nice video. There are also big Caribbean communities outside London i.e. Jamaicans in Birmingham, St Kitts people in Leeds and so on. Brixton itself has changed over the past 20-30 years. Back then it was like a no-go area. Now it is becoming gentrified and trendy. Still, Brixton itself has an almost uniquely nice atmosphere compared to the rest of London.

All facts!!!! Where is the Caribbean vibe in Holland?
@haatpraat29932 жыл бұрын
@@KeenanLambert198 For Caribbean vibes I would suggest first Rotterdam, then Amsterdam. In Amsterdam every summer they have a festival - called Kwaku and consists of Suriname culture - food, drink, lots of music and lots of people - thousands turn up. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJ7Hp3iXobGlp7M Also in the summer, in Rotterdam there is the Rotterdam carnival which is just like the Notting Hill carnival in London, but with most of the players from the Dutch Antilles (Dutch speaking islands In the Caribbean) and Suriname. This is also a huge party with thousands of people kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5zMiY1vnJtmfNU

@@KeenanLambert198 The Caribbean vibes in the Netherlands can be found both in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Every summer the Suriname community in Amsterdam puts on a series of cultural events in an area called Bijlmer. This occasion is called 'Kwakoe'. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJ7Hp3iXobGlp7M Then in Rotterdam there is a Notting Hill type carnival that also attracts thousands. What a cool part of the city. Lot's going on and I'm enjoying the vibe they have. I think I would of picked the jerk chicken and rice. But it all looked good! I got shut down on filming the other day at one of the Malls here in El Salvador by security. It's a cool mall too. Great video Keenan!

Brixton is changing, but for the better. At the turn of the last century Brixton was a very affluent area to live. When Jamaicans arrived unannounced after the second world war it went downhill as drugs and crime went up. (walking by counterfeit goods but nobody cares !!) - wrong. The English are reclaiming this part of London and that is a good thing. RiP Keith Blakelock.
@KeenanLambert198 Жыл бұрын
hmm... Well my question to you is... Who are the English? Are the British-born children of Caribbean migrants not English?
@wingaard Жыл бұрын
@@KeenanLambert198 The English are descendants of the Anglo-Saxons. Being English is an ethnicity. You've answered your own question. Of course Caribbean children are nt English, but they may have British citizenship.

@@KeenanLambert198 Whose to say - Many Jamaicans have British passports - but also many don't.

@@wingaard So then based on your definition of English as an ethnicity… Many Jamaicans including myself have Anglo-Saxon ancestry… And thus have a sort of birthright to the land no?
