This had me looking around at who uses this style of gun. Then I found someone using a night sight shooting bunnies in the UK. I noticed a lot of comments saying this is one of the greatest .22 rifles ever made.

Definitely one of the best ever made. I got one in Northern Ireland for £150. It’s from 1965 and is a tack driver

You can easily take that rear open sight off by depressing the front of it down & retract it to the rear. The front pivot pins are in a groove.

Late to the show, but.. I got hold of a Brno model 5 from 1958 in mint condition, the bolt innards still full of factory thick grease - think cosmoline. I use Warne two-piece mounts for a modern 1 inch scope. The factory issued one-piece rail was topped with a W.D. no 3663. 2,5x18 scope, 22 mm steel tube. The manufacturing details of that mount is incredibly facinating - the screws with excentric cylindrical heads for a flush mounting but no screw slots for example.

Mine has 5/8 th dovetail. Absolute bugger to get mounts for. And yea you can remove rear sight. Also be careful with Bar in between the scope and breach. I have had problems with shell hitting scope tube and bouncing back into the breach.

Just found your videos', I recently picked up a 1957 #5, a #1 bbl and #2 receiver. Is there any way you could list the part #'s for the scope mounts that you showed the Video. Particularly the picatinny rail.

What size mountings can i get for the brno model 2, cause like you said the dovetail has a width of 15,87mm but what size can i get? And what brand do you use? Know this is a dumb question but ive been struggling to get this right. mounting.

I torque the rings to 15 inch lbs and the clamping screws to 20 inch lbs

Yes the newer rifles have the 11 mm dovetail. Old rifles 16mm.
