Ramy was the defending champ and still stepped on stage looking the worst he ever had and dropped to 5th. No excuse for Nick if it has no relation to health concerns.

Everyone seems to be talking about Nick, so I might as well... He wasn't winning it anyway, sorry to break that news to him. I think he needs to be very careful because he might not get many more Olympias. He's contracted to be at the Olympia, he isn't injured or sick, and he doesn't look perfect because they did something wrong. That's on them, he isn't a victim of anything, this isn't 'unfair' and to let down the Olympia, IFBB and the paying fans literally one week out is poor IMO. If Nick let everyone know he was not looking his best and did his crying apology, but said he'd still show up for the fans and to show respect for the Olympia... He'd gain even more fans! We would all respect that so much but unfortunately, his ego, vanity and pride just won't let him do it. Where would the Olympia be if all the top guys did this? Just ducking out of the event because they don't look good enough to win it? They'd be f**ked, which is why they have signed contracts... But they apparently don't apply to Nick. I like Nick a lot, definitely no hater and I get why he doesn't want to compete looking bad... but sometimes as a man you have to drop your pride and keep your promises to those who support you. Just standing on the Olympia stage for the fans should be a special experience in itself. This is just my opinion, don't get triggered if you don't agree... There are far more important things happening in the world right now than a guy in a sparkly thong.

I think you guys have nailed the whole Nick thing, I am no body builder by any way but I have followed it and had it in my entire life, I have been watching tons of KZbin content and I wanted to see Nick this year especially after last year, it’s annoying because it’s a super prestigious competition and nobody should disrespect the integrity of the competition. He should have been honest, pulled out and definitely should not be disrespectful to his fellow competitors, just for the record, he is not top 3 in body building in 2024, maybe a few years ago but there is better talent on stage now.

I agree with you. He turned pro, won quickly if I remember right, then won the Arnold, and his head was very big. Everyone said he was the next #1. I remember him telling Guy he wants to win 10 Olympias, and I can remember thinking, "Maybe focus on winning ONE first before you think about 10." That was 2 or 3 years ago, and here we are, still hasn't won one, and whenever he does compete, he has things to say about the other guys, like disagreeing that Samson beat him, and acting like winning NY wasn't going to be a problem but then only beat Martin by 1 point, so I think the field is progressing alot faster around him than he thought, and now reality is setting in that Oh shit, I may have missed my prime days, and there's others around me that are coming up and passing me now or soon. That's a stark difference from "I'm the best and I plan on winning 10 O's". Something just smells off by their excuse, and I think there's more that we will never know.

U have to understand Nick is like the most hated bodybuilder in the world, even prior o him dropping out. People just hate his waist, and his physique, every year they criticize him saying he should be outside of the top 5 because he has an ugly physique. So far, he always managed to keep his image by going up in placings and proving everyone that count him out each year wrong. What would have happened if he showed up looking as bad as it seems he would have? People would have not been considerate trust me. He would have just gives his haters the right to speak. I totally understand him dropping out and hope he can bounce back.

Its almost like Nick and Matt didn't feel the need to investigate why he wasnt responding, before they put out the statement. They didnt think the fans deserved justification.

I know this was live and me commenting is probably irrelevant, but as far as Nick not making the video himself, he WAS in it and they explained what was going on together. Nick views Jansen as a father which might be weird but he clearly was too upset to make the full video himself and Jansen probably offered to do it for him. I’m not a big fan of Nicks at all but I feel like it was a pretty simple explanation. However I do agree, a potential fine could be necessary for future pull outs from the Olympia 46:13

So in a way I agree he reached the top then let off the gas. Don’t you guys remember his original style of training then went to the Mike approach “nothing wrong with that” but that’s nothing like his original style. If your gonna scale back its good but its just a more refined style of your original approach..

I think that Eric is speaking to a general population that is notorious for not using good form and swinging the weight up (using that biceps curl example). I'm a bodybuilding coach and trainer. I see so many people swinging on the biceps curl in the name of curling heavier weights. The exercise he presents helps take momentum out of the equation for those lifters who have a hard time understanding what true muscle recruitment is. Most of the time when a client comes to me bragging about a 30# curl, im like, show me. Usually, it's completely bad form and momentum. I just think his target audience is not bodybuilders.

They did not drop out the last week after signing a contract to do it. They were just cualified to do it. Huge difference.

@@johnquinn5438 yeah U are right my G, but i still got the feeling they talking like its the most disrerpectful thing to drop out of the olympia because of the way u are feeling about ur own body and not being Competitive .. when its the exact same reason Ian retired and fouad skipped his first O. Ian would've 100 % competed if He Was improved to the year before.

Great to see you guys put out a episode , @fouadiabiad or for anyone who has experience is it worth doing a bulk phase if you are at 18% bodyfat or is it better to go down to like 10% bodyfat first ? Iam 40 years old and i rly want to get a nice body , iam trying to get a nice body for the next summer so dont know how i should plan it, should i start a bulk now and then a long cut or keep cutting untill iam at 10% and then do a bulk and then cut again ? Please help me what will benefit me the most . Thanks in advance

@@AusOpenBodybuilding ok so its always better to diet to get lean even if you dont have much muscles ? For refence my arms are 38cm , so if I cut wont i just look like i am sick since I will be so lean but dont have much muscles ? Iam only asking, thank you for answering have a great day

If you eat at mantinance calories whilst lifting weights and doing cardio you will "recomp" loose body fat & maintain muscle providing your eating enough protein your arms will grow not shrink even at mantinance calories. You'll end up the same weight but not as fat, than lean bulk. Good luck 💪🏻✌🏻🇦🇺

Nick needs to take a year off of everything, including training to shrink his waistline. Everything else will shrink, but he's young, and it's his only hope to be a top Olympian again...

Nicks best years are behind him he went to far to fast. His legs will never keep up with the rest of his body and his waist got to big. He let it out alot at the New York pro. His Arnold 21 win was his best look he was peeled and way more balanced as he was down sized it fit his frame.
