Thanks to WBZ for interviewing this very courageous scientist. It would be so easy for her to stick her head in the sand and not ask questions but asking questions and proposing hypothesis is science isn't it. Nice job Paula Ebban. Honest reporting rare these days. Alina may just be saving lives in the future. Please listen to her.

A careless mishap at a lab is understandable. And originally I dismissed the possibility of this being an intentional act, but the fact that so many governments and media outlets are censoring even the possibility of an accident makes me think something sinister is possible. If it was an accident, scientists need to apologize and accept more oversight for risky research.

Recent interviews with Alina Chan she mentions that the covid-19 virus has signs of being manipulated to be able to get through cells easier, like making the virus more aggressive, which I believe she states is undoubtedly a man made decision, look it up. We are talking about a molecular specialist here.

@@desmondpun1773 I’m confused. How does the Fort Detrick closure relate to the Covid pandemic if the virus is believed to have originated outside of the U.S.? I’m not surprised by the revelation that Covid had entered the U.S. well before the first headlines. One of our state senators, who sits on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, was casually mentioning the virus at luncheons and speaking engagements earlier. In fact, he traded personal stocks on the information.

@@desmondpun1773 This is groundless. There were bats that were actively being housed and kept in the Wuhan lab. This is the fact that none of the researchers on the panels even made mention. That casts doubts due to the partiality of their statements with the intent to further cast doubts on the lab-leak theory.

Thank you for your tireless pursuit of the truth Dr Chan. You've upset a number of people who fear a lab origin to Covid19 will threaten their funding and bring back the moratorium on gain-of-function research on potential pandemic pathogens. The likes of Marc Lipsitch and Carl Bergstrom warned that lifting the moratorium in 2017 risked a pandemic. How prescient. Keep up the great work.

Why was the lab leak hypothesis ever less plausible than that it came from a wet market? That it came from a wet market is *actually* ridiculous sounding. Coming from a lab was pronounced a conspiracy theory? That's like saying a car accident is a conspiracy of automobile drivers.
@karlkarlsson9126

I think it was less plausible because the Chinese government said that it wasn't true, that's all they have to say to make everything against it a conspiracy or China hate.

It was always plausible but the people complicit in this industrial accident wanted to dispel suspicion and used their high up position in the field to try to do that. Facebook hired Peter Daszak, head of the non-profit that provided funding to the Wuhan lab, to set the standards for what information would be censored from their service.

The average person does not have the capacity to make a sound judgement on this. Suggesting otherwise is like saying a random Joe can be taught to build the latest X-box from scratch. Saying that you think the Lab Leak was more likely defeat your own argument of neutrality.

From June 2014 to May 2019, Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance had a grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health, to do gain-of-function research with coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Whether or not SARS2 is the product of that research, it seems a questionable policy to farm out high-risk research to foreign labs using minimal safety precautions. And if the SARS2 virus did indeed escape from the Wuhan institute, then the NIH will find itself in the terrible position of having funded a disastrous experiment that led to the death of more than 3 million worldwide, including more than half a million of its own citizens. The US government shares a strange common interest with the Chinese authorities: Neither is keen on drawing attention to the fact that Shi’s coronavirus work was funded by the US National Institutes of Health. One can imagine the behind-the-scenes conversation in which the Chinese government says, “If this research was so dangerous, why did you fund it, and on our territory too?” To which the US side might reply, “Looks like it was you who let it escape. But do we really need to have this discussion in public?” By Nicholas Wade | May 5, 2021

The doctor's expertise is in medical genetics. Therefore, she is looking at the issue through one lens that has been shown to be blurry. Those who say that the virus actually exists are also looking at it through this blurred lens. In actuality, the virus has not been discovered in the traditional, gold-standard method. That is, it has not been isolated, nor purified, nor seen in its entirety under an electron microscope. Also, since those first three steps have not been followed there can be no test of its pathogenicity. Pathogenicity is simply testing a virus to see if it is harmful to humans. As the doctor admits, she cannot be certain of the origin of the Coronavirus. I was a bit disappointed that the gold standard of virus identification was not even mentioned. However, after two years of my researching the issue, I am not surprised by her results. She is definitely being influenced by the medical/scientific establishment. Personally, I would not put much store in what she has to say.

@@tnaplastic2182 i have read that but in other places I have read where what looks like splicing can happen naturally also. The furan code and another double code occurred that is rare and also used as a maker by gene splicers. So there is an argument and disagreement among the scientists and experts about this.
@tnaplastic2182
@tnaplastic2182 3 жыл бұрын
@@jeffbguarino It is CORRECT that a Furin-Cleavage-Site CAN occur naturally! The other rare thing you read about are probably the "Prion-like Domains" a.k.a. "Prion-genesis-sites"! ;) However... THIS *poly-basic* Furin-Cleavage-Site (it has a Double-Arginine) is "spliced" into the virus. a. The Double-Arginine is statically repelling and it is - at the very least - "unusual" that this happens in the first place. b. It is EXACTLY at the junction-site between the S1- and S2-"Subdomain" of the Spike-protein. That alone is EXTREMELY unlikely to occur naturally, because it makes no natural sense to evolve there instead of within the "receptor binding domain" (the actual thing of the Spike-protein, which causes stato-chemical "binding" to a host/target-cell). c. This FCS came into existence via 4 (6) VERY RARE Shift-mutations (in that case Insert-Mutations, a.k.a. "additional genes"), yet lacks EXTREMELY common Point-mutations! Not 1 or 2, but 4 Insert-mutations at the same place "right after another" and yet it lacks the most common type of mutation! That in itself is prove, that it *acquired ALL Insert-Mutations AT ONCE* , yet a *gradual* acquisition of the FCS (as it has been observed naturally) only occurs via Point-mutations! Do you know how many insert-mutations we have seen in all those SARS-CoV-2 variants (tenths of thousands)? *ZERO!* They ALL are "variations" of SARS-CoV-2 solely due to Point-mutations! ;) d. The Laos-BatCoV they recently found and which is 'having a "similar spike-protein" like SARS-CoV-2" is lacking the FCS (not only one of both Arginine, but the entire FCS Sequence) as well as the Prion-like Domains!
@jeffbguarino
@jeffbguarino 3 жыл бұрын
@@tnaplastic2182 Yes the double arginine. There are different codons to code for arginine also , I believe 6. If all this is true , that it is very very rare and almost impossible then this will be the smoking gun. It may be years before enough RNA samples are collected and the science expands that this will become obvious. Then again if they find a percentage of this happening naturally , it will mean doubt and not proof.

I think this is ignoring how strong the situational coincidence is. If WIV was importanting SARS like viruses from multiple southeast asian countries and drafting grant proposals to modify them, and where known to have the expertise in doing that and where using humanized mice. To have a novel sars virus with a novel furin cleavage site suddenly appear in Wuhan. I just don't get how people can dismiss that from their calculation of what's likely.
