Thanks i have learned a lot from your videos. Can you please do a tutorial on how you mix AG as stereo? I saw you have it set up as stereo, but both look like they have different routing and volumens.

Thank you for the video Dave! We're in Rhode Island. Perhaps 6 years experience on the x32? We run an x32 for our house, and then we have a post fader mix controlled by an iPad for our stream mix. We were going to look at an Behringer XTouch so we could have real faders in our stream room. But, this video reminded me that we have our 2nd x32 (this one is a compact) that was intended for portable events, but we really haven't used. I think it will probably be better than an iPad. You agree? Thanks for the idea!

Yeah, put that other console to work. One thing to keep in mind is that the main console (master) will control your true preamp gain and the second console (slave) will only have digital trim. That being said if the broadcast console is the secondary console you can run things more like an old school analog desk where you can set your faders at unity and then use the trim to build you mix. dial in EQ and compression to taste and you are up and running really quick.

I used an X32 rack this past weekend for a church that didn't have a good system. All was well then we decided to try and record via a stereo pair of mixbuses. When I hit the sends of fader to send the inputs, it routed the sound through the main speakers. I'm pretty sure we probably hit something.....and ideas on where to start?

You need to make sure the MixBUS is de-selected from the Main LR Bus so you stream mix doesn’t go out the mains.

What's the difference between mix bus and sub group.

On the X32 a Subgroup will allow you to send an input to the group at unity (0dB) only so the input is either muted or not muted. It should process like a Post Fader Bus, but again it doesn't offer the additional adjustment of the send amount into the group. On older consoles you also didn't have any processing like EQ or compression. A MixBus offers the ability to mix the level going into the Bus and then have the additional processing included as well.
