You finally got around to Broadstone, top man. You need to show the east side of the station, the collonade. Great video by the way, it's sad what happened to the three termini of Dublin. A little foresight by the powers that should not be and they might still be in operation today.

It's a magnificent building, imposing, complimenting the Kings Inns opposite. Don't stop what you're doing whatever you do, history needs to be told and preserved, great videos all of them.

@@keithmacmanais2666 app your comments keith ! I dont edit the videos very basic ! but i like to convey the historical location i am in , recent weeks i found the Louglinstown battery near Quinns road Shankill behind a fence it should be protected by the OPW currently at the mercy of anti social behaviour

Beautiful old station it's a pity that nuge ugly wall built for the Luas tram station blocks the view of Broadstone station

For non~Dubliners, the 'LUAS' is the tram. Not an acronym as you might expect, it's actually Irish (Gaelic) for 'Speed'. Stupid name, if you ask me; I mean, can you imagine anyone saying "I find the 'Speed' the handiest way of getting in to college in the mornings"... But, Hey! What do I know?! 🙄

I always found it interesting that Broadstone 'was too far from the city centre' when Heuston is at least as far, not to mention where Harcourt street station was located.

Class video, always wondered what that building was! Where was the canal spur (?) in relation to the station ... as shown on the old map in the thumbnail? I see there's a street (Royal Canal Terrace) parallel to Phibsborough...

Thx Tom the original royal canal ran past mounjoy jail thru Broadstone down to the aquaduct at Broadstone

Pretty sure there were oil trains serving the yard until the 1970s.
