Bellydance was created for women by women to gather and dance, celebrate our femininity and lives. Bellydance is an inward and outward expression of movement containing flowing undulations, diversely tempo'd hips and shimmies, traveling steps, layers and has been around for thousands of years. I am lucky to be a Palestinian woman and lucky to share this dance and all the diversity and culture that comes with it with anyone who wishes to move with me. Although bellydance was "made" for women... some of the most famous and wonderful bellydancers are men. All are welcome in my class and I teach all levels.
I create classic Egyptian works as well as many fusion works. I am a dancer. Not just a bellydancer and I enjoy creating to music as I feel. "BE THE MUSIC" one simple message I share with my class. Embody the sounds you are hearing and be the music. Let it flow through you and connect you to the earth. Dancing from a place of intention, love, joy, pain, excitement whatever it may be can be healing and nurturing to our bodies. Bellydance can be done in many ways so take a look at my other videos :) This class is intended to help all dancers find and control their isolations of their hips, abdomen, chest and shoulders with more precision, speed, and range/diversity of motion. All while finding a place of intention to dance from. I hope you will join me!
