I love the way Kait describes this. Nobody’s perfect and not everyone’s likable, but we’re all people and it’s important to understand each other in real life and on the stage. Love this so so much

Would love to know why couldn’t the ending be changed to daisy and Gatsby being together in some way?? I just hate they have a tragic ending( side note : roaring reprise lyrics is eerie to me knowing the context 😂)

The Great Gatsby is a tragedy by design. It’s about the death of the American Dream and how money corrupts. Kait changed both characters (and many more plot points) but the entire metaphor of the green light is that Jay is reaching out towards something that doesn’t exist. A Daisy that’s more than her selfish and shallow exterior.
