In fact, it's going to be a very serious experience with lots of powerful social commentary and indictments of life in America in the 1950s. So be prepared to look at the works of Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, and Lorraine Hansberry, and to look into the face of chronic illness, racism, and the crushing malaise of American middle class life. I saw the entire series. Being from Brazil, I wish Mike could do one episode on 20th Century Third World Theater, specially latin america. We have in Brazil one major playwright NELSON RODRIGUES, a true genious, he has amazing plays, very modernistic. Consider that in that time Brazil was an isolated country, and NELSON somehow had impressionist, Brechtian, and other elements in his plays, although he had never heard of them.

A lot of people don't know this, but originally Broadway was one of three streets - A, B, and C Roadway. A and C were demolished during the war, so we were left with B Roadway, or "Broadway", as it is known in the vernacular.
