Just saw the show at Longacre Theater on 48th NYC and it is powerful. The songs . the cast, and yes the story. It is hard to believe with a story like this about the internment of Japanese Americans, but there was levity hope and defiance shown in the face of terrible abuses. I suggest that while many shows are on the frothy side....this one packs a punch

応援します。いつかこの舞台に立っているどなたかと共演できるといいですね。私の祖父も生きていれば１０１歳（２０２１年時点）ですが、海軍にいて負傷兵として帰国出来ました。横須賀にいたのでもし負傷していなければまず間違いなく亡くなっていたでしょう。なのでこの手の話は胸に迫るものを感じます。同時代を描いた四季の三部作も思い出しつつwowowで日本版を見ました。これはアイデンティティの選択の問題だと感じました。サムは自分をアメリカ人だと思い、遠目で見ればそれが自分たちの親や祖父や姉を救うとおもって志願した。スズキは逆に日本人だと思えばこそアメリカに忠誠は誓えなかった。どちらが悪いということではないのにルーツを同じくする人たちが引き裂かれてしまう皮肉。私も出来ればオリジナルスクリプトを手に入れたいと思いました。戦争に正しいということはない。あるのは間違いの積み重ねとその中でも一番平和に近く皆が納得できる道筋はどれかという選択だけ。何故それがわからず同じ事をし続けるのか。今また生命の危機が脅かされているというのに何事もなかったかのように次の争いが生まれてしまう。もっと歴史（作品の背景）を知りたいと思いました。いつかそれを文章にして形に出来ると良いのですが。

Ummm you do realize that the setting of the show is in the 1940s, right? So if it sounds old fashioned then they've obviously done their job.
