This show deserved so much better. I wept my eyes out when I saw it in New York City just a few days before they posted the closing notice.

Just saw the show at Longacre Theater on 48th NYC and it is powerful. The songs . the cast, and yes the story. It is hard to believe with a story like this about the internment of Japanese Americans, but there was levity hope and defiance shown in the face of terrible abuses. I suggest that while many shows are on the frothy side....this one packs a punch

I’m japanese and I’ve found this musical a couple days ago...all the casts are talented, and story is beautiful. Now I want to know about this history more. I know this is so hard dream, but someday if I could, I want to be a actress on The Broadway to play, and to keep telling this story....
Try reading "hotel on the corner of bitter and sweet" too. I cried my eyes out.

George Takei actually wrote a comic book about his experience as a young boy in the internment camps, "They Called Us Enemy".

For anyone who's still following this musical, I just want to share that they will show it again in select cinemas on Dec 7th (with only limited showtimes), so check out your local cinemas if it will be there. :) Also, next year (Feb21-April1), there will be a production in LA, with some of its original casts. :) Another good news is there is also going to be a DVD that will be released next year! :) Go to their website for more details --> allegiancemusical.com/#RB0UizfQuVxxpBME.97

Probably a worthy story but the music sounds very corny and old fashioned.
@BobJoeman2 жыл бұрын
Well it's mainly set in 1940s America

I think it’s still better than the over-saturated jukebox musicals existing right now. At least it had new tunes. 😬
@josephensworth7044 Жыл бұрын
Ummm you do realize that the setting of the show is in the 1940s, right? So if it sounds old fashioned then they've obviously done their job.
