This is one of the best interviews of Joan Rivers I've ever seen. I understand that she's a very generous person ... with her family and her staff members, which are like family. Best wishes to a wonderful performer.

I'm so glad they talked about theatre etiquette concerning wardrobe. I just got home from my NYC trip yesterday, and I got to see three amazing shows. I was absolutely horrified to see people at the Majestic for The Phantom of the Opera in jeans and t-shirts with uncombed hair. It was just appalling, and I really think they should think about establishing some kind of dress code. This is a really interesting interview.

Shannon, I just turned 26 in May and for my birthday, I spent 2 weeks in NYC to see as many Broadway shows as I could! Since this was my first time seeing a Broadway show (and with being involved in theatre almost my whole life) I just knew that the dress code was nothing less than formal wear… I was wrong. So many people in casual street wear! I also believe that there should be a standard!

I also found this to be an AMAZING interview! The point about reviews reminds me of an interview Adam Pascal did a couple years ago in which he said essentially no one really reads them anymore because of social media acting as the voice of the real audience passing on to friends, followers true but honest reactions. A show now lives or dies not because of lofty newspaper critics but because of the public.

For reasons best known to herself, each cosmetic surgery left her resembling Miss Piggy a bit more closely. Toward the end, instead of laughing, she'd oink with a slight NY accent. This really delighted 'em at The Iowa State Fair. Fly high last mameleh before freeway

This is in reference to the theatre. Americans did used to dress up for the theatre. Also going on an airplane was something that people used to dress up for but now everyone's in sweat pants and flip flops. It's interesting how the culture changes.

Great stories. No matter if You lover her or hate her. She has great stories. You get todays "stars" on talk show..they have nothing tosay. That is why the guests come on and leave after they promote ther latest ventures. Back in the day guests would stay out with the other guests and interact.

I loved this interview. The host and JR have a great rapport, and maybe it's because there's no live audience, but I found Joan to be more natural and less 'performing' than she normally was on a talk show and audience. I really felt that I was getting a feel for what she was like as a person. As much as I enjoyed her work, she could be a little exhausting when playing to the rafters during an interview. And WHAT was that jacket she was wearing?
@aarondigby98592 жыл бұрын
Her taste for fashion was kind of eccentric but she made it work for her, that was one of her comedy niches, like Rodney Dangerfield with the red tie, Phyllis Diller the outrageous outfits, Mom's Mabley the funny looking hat, it's a gag, helps with routine.
