Character Study: Jelani Remy, Simba in THE LION KING on Broadway

I met Jelani through my mom's colleague. Back when he was still on the First National Tour (Simba), we met up at the stage door port-show and honestly I've never met someone so sweet and genuine. I was so nervous to meet him, but we started talking about musicals and his video with Nick Pitera... It was honestly one of the most fantastic moments of my life. A few weeks later I got a birthday present from him (and a card with our selfie on it) and to know that he cared enough to send me that... I don't know if any other person would have done that, and for these reasons and so so many more, Jelani Remy will always be my absolute favorite broadway actor.

I’m in the lion kind play. It’s my school play in Florence river front middle school. I’m from NJ too. I’m the ensemble in my play too. But I make a huge difference in the play. Without ensemble there would be no jungle or grass or animals in the circle of life.

I feel like young simba is underated, he's onstage the most and he is kinda the backbone of the show, if young simba wasn't good, the whole show wouldn't be good. Yet adult simba gets all of the praise as the lead and stuff I mean adult simba is awesome but he can't say he plays simba, 5 different things do. 3 puppets and 2 live actors. I know I may seem annyoying but I am just a little irritated by this. He should say he plays adult simba. That and adult simba is on all the posters where it should be young simba there.
