What's this show about?

It's basically about a banking executive who goes on a killing spree. That's not a fantastic description and there's so much more to it, though... It's based on a 2000 film. It's really great, you should totally watch it!

+Oh Crumpets I read it a long time ago. I liked it back then. It is grim though, even darker than the movie, filled with some explicit descriptions of torture and murder. On the other hand you also get a clearer picture of the main character. You get to see/read more of his struggle between narcissism and self loathing or the recurring shift between realization and ignorance of the emptiness/vacuousness of "modern" (80s and 90s) art, music, work, life, etc. Christian Bale did a great job in the movie. His portrayal of Bateman was what really got him back into the limelight. Some people disliked the book for its violence, others disliked some seemingly overlong passages in which Bateman describes stuff in his house, his wardrobe etc. I found those passages crucial to his character and the book. When he describes over a couple of pages all the qualities of a music album or his new suit he sounds like an ad. He sounds like he is trying to convince himself of the value of things, or of the existence of (something of) value in general.

Koco loris Across the street from her are two other Broadway theatres that she has a view of, the Imperial theatre and the Music Box Theatre. Like she said “we’re neighbors!” So that’s why it’s cool.
