I am just a crafter. Beginner clay play. I’ve used air dry clay from Michaels and found that I could actually create something cute! But it was getting pricy. I tried a few diy homemade clay recipes on you tube and they DID NOT WORK AT ALL. I decided to try one more time after viewing this video three times. IT WORKED AND IT IS PERFECT!!! Now, I’m making all kinds of things!!!!!!!!! So far, I’ve colored small amounts of my clay with a dab of acrylic paint ( I’ve been crafting for 40 years, so I have nearly every color)…lol store wrapped tight in cling wrap and air tight container. NO ISSUES AT ALL! Thanks for the tutorial and inspiration ! I think the key is “ letting it rest 24 hours”. ……WATCH ALL OF THE VIDEO… don’t just read the ingredients, mix, cook and expect to use immediately. Follow the video exactly. IT WORKS 4 me! FYI……. Corn flour = corn starch.

Jenna, your air dry clay is beautiful! Really beautiful! I want to ask you a few questions:- 1. How long does it take your figures to dry? 2. And do you ever get cracking on them? 3. If you get cracking, how do you fix it? 4. Can I put dry clay and new clay onto each other, will I need to use glue?
@Jenna_Handcrafts2 жыл бұрын
Hi...thanks a lot ✨ 1. Takes 12 to 24hours to dry completely based on the thickness of the clay pieces 2. I find cracks only when my clay is little dry to handle. Solution is to condition the clay by rubbing in our palms. 3. Cracks can be filled will fresh soft clay and blend it seamlessly 4. Yes we can put dry and wet clay together with normal glue. Dry on dry we need E8000 strong bond glue. Hope this information helps you.
