I'm not an adult but my parents can't afford ballet class so I had to quit a year ago, Giselle was always my favourite variation and thank you for helping me re-learn it:)

Hi I’m from Brazil, Is this video mirrored?
@BrocheBallet5 жыл бұрын
Focus on me Hi there! The video is not mirrored. We have mixed feedback on if dancers prefer to learn from the front or the back or mirrored videos.. what is your preference?

Jessica k. The Sugar Plum Fairy and/or 4 Little Swans videos on our channel are also good ones that are still challenging but the individual moves themselves are simpler! You might also consider starting there first! :)

Broche Ballet hello . Thank you very much . Giselle is my favourite by far . You did some an amazing beautiful job demonstrating how to perform Giselle . Even though I’m a beginner. I’ll still try . And I.lmtry the other videos that you suggested thank you very much . And take care of yourself ✨🩰💟

Can you list variations that dont require pointe in a video?
@BrocheBallet4 жыл бұрын
Any variation can be done without pointe shoes if you’re dancing just for fun! For example, in my online ballet studio, I teach a different one every month and we’ve learned: - 4 little swans - Kitri from Don Quixote - Candide Fairy from Sleeping Beauty - Russian Dance from Nutcracker - Sugar Plum Fairy (also on my KZbin channel) When it comes to competitions or performances, pointe requirements will be a little different and depend on the organization!

I really want to try learning ballet as an adult, just for fun, but I can never find any classes for beginners. 😔
@BrocheBallet4 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad to hear you want to start learning ballet! That's so exciting :) We love beginner adult dancers here at Broche! A big silver lining of COVID is that there couldn't be a better time to be a beginner in ballet! There are so many places (including Broche) where you can learn ballet from your home. No special shoes or flooring are needed to get started. We have beginner ballet classes if you like live online classes, and an 18-hour video course if you prefer to get started with your studies in private. And, we're not the only ones! The sky is the limit right now with learning enough of the basics of ballet to be able to join a local studio when they start re-opening. Our video course: brocheballetonline.com/overture-online Our live ballet class schedule (which includes beginner & intro levels): brocheballetonline.com/live-schedule Hope that helps, and I hope that wherever you end up, that you do find your way to ballet! It's such a wonderful place to be! :)

@@BrocheBallet especially in these times it's important to have a hobby 🥰 I'm going with another online course due to the fact that the beginners classes are a big time difference since I'm in the UK, but hopefully I can have enough confidence to join your mixed level classes after maybe a month or two

Hey, what you are doing is terrific but I am surprised that you skip the names of connecting steps and refer to them as turn-around, step-drag, and so on.
@BrocheBallet4 жыл бұрын
MDMigs thanks for the feedback! I love teaching adult beginners and often have found that overwhelming with vocabulary can make it difficult for them to focus on different things like remembering the choreography. Also they can be intimidated by all the foreign words. So I tend to prefer to separate out instructional videos with vocab explanations and keep videos like this a little more colloquial in language to simplify at least one aspect for newer dancers. Hope that helps clarify the style of the video! Happy dancing :)

I loved doing this! however, next time could you invert your video? this is in benefit of understanding what side you're on.
@BrocheBallet3 жыл бұрын
Definitely, for future videos, we have started doing them from the back view! :)
