I’m installing flags into my thatched cob cottage, laying them onto a limecrete slab so I’m laying them using secil adhere cal which is also a lime product, I’m spacing the flags with roughly a 13mm space between them as it all needs to be breathable, nice job.

You are as good as they come, what would really help you with that laying - especially with the awkward cuts, is a 'Grabbo'. Hand held battery powered sucked pad, has made my life a lot easier!
@Brockstonepavingpros Жыл бұрын
Thank you mate, that’s very much appreciated! Not a fan of those Grabos, will slow you down too much. Plus everyone is always saying they break all the time. 👍🏼
@paulbird795 Жыл бұрын
I know what you mean, and you do work very fast. My grabbo not broken yet and 2 yrs old. If I'm laying lots of 2x1's or even 2x2's then it's a lot easier for me to use it as I don't need to get down as low and also easier on fingers. If you ever lay big yorkstone slabs, you can stick the grabbo in the middle and attach to micro digger! My days of hand balling yorkstone are over, gave me a hiatus hernia. Also been working on a pneumatic grout injector that uses a makita compressor, so far so good and can point 25m patio in 2 hours with wet mortar and no staining - the secret trick is a leaf blower and timing. Was dry pointing for 15 yrs before finding the method.@@Brockstonepavingpros

Hi mate, is the pointing with sand & cement?
@jc80232 жыл бұрын
Yes, traditional mortar pointing. Down on your hands and knees. If you were pointing a stone patio at your own home what would you do? Sand and cement or one of the 21st century alternatives? Thanks again for sharing your videos.

@conormcdade841 Жыл бұрын
Hey mate how would you grout a limestone floor slabs were laying them atm an near ready for grouting, we have grout master 3000 in a stone colour but not sure on the consistency to make it, would a piping bag be ideal to point them with then let it set for a few mins then pointing tool to smooth out? Or will we just use the same as this video
@Brockstonepavingpros Жыл бұрын
I’ve not used that grout mate so don’t know if needs to be mixed in a certain way? I’d read up on it and maybe try both ways see what’s working best
