Enjoying Twig Talk. 👍 I'll add: 1. Elbow pads were placed on the opposite arms in this video. The flappy portion near the wrist goes towards the outside to protect against slashes. 2. As a tongue tucker, pulling the shin guards over the skate tongue can be pretty annoying depending on how tight the shin guards and socks are. Instead, I found it easiest to wear socks first and keep at the ankles, then skates, shin guards, pull socks over shins, shin tape, and pants go on last while wearing skate guards/soakers to avoid cutting up the interior. Because some skate guards can have a tendency to fall off easily if you try to remove pants with them on, for undressing I found it least annoying to drop pants to the ankles, unstrap socks, pull up pants, roll down socks, and then remove shins, skates, and pants. 3. Suspenders are great for keeping your jersey over your pants (no duck tail) or if the pants don't stay up because you don't fit the body type. For those that have trouble with the suspender straps coming down or shoulder pads riding up, wear the suspender straps over the shoulder pads. 4. Because there are so many variables for skate construction, sizing, and feet, keeping the laces tight from arch up to ankle might not work for everybody. My feet have high arches and my boot is pretty stiff so I wear high arch insoles and keep the lacing at the arch barely snug. Otherwise, I get a lot of discomfort. I'll lace tighter at the ankle for heel lockdown. 5. For increasing ankle mobility or avoiding lace bite, you can change up your lacing pattern such as lacing from outside/in instead of inside/out. You can also skip eyelets such as the top most or second to top.

Thanks Brodie and Curtis, I laughed so hard at this hockey school comedy sketch while watching. You guys are the best comedy team commentators in hockey by far, and I hope you keep getting funnier! Curtis is a wise old veteran who knows hockey traditions and the importance of respecting the game. Hockey is a very dangerous fast game and it teaches you to learn how to be careful enough not to kill each other by blades, pucks or stick spears like a medieval jousting knight.

Just LOVE these segments!! Need more next season. You guys have really good chemistry. My equipment is all second hand. Marc-Edouard Vlasic’s game used stick, pants, socks, & his equipment bag from the 2018-2019 season. I also have Brad Stuart’s game worn jersey & Scotty Hannan’s game used stick. Appears I have a thing for defenseman 😉. I could almost build one of my own at this point lol. Just a few more items.
