As a note to other British couples it IS possible to cut costs a bit (we did it for 5k for 2 of us last year) BUT I was shocked how much everything was and most vlogs are not transparent about it like this, and the tipping culture really took me by surprise in terms of how much it added up.

Loved listening to this! ❤ Completely agree with you on Mouse Keeping. We especially found it better when you were soaked from the rain and came back to a nice clean room. We had heard that possibly they didn’t have enough cleaning staff which is why it’s done every 4 days but this was through another guest so I’m not sure how accurate this is 🙂 I can’t wait to go back at some point and experience it all again as there were many positive points 🥰

Great vlog! I love that you keep things so real and honest! I loved your trip in December and really want to go then this year. We did the dining plan in 2019 but found it was just too much eating! And having to book a sit down meal nearly every day really took a lot of organising. So personally I prefer to just eat when we fancy it, share like you say and have one or two special meals. But everyone has their own way of doing things. I look forward to seeing your DLP vlogs! Love to you both xxx

Really loved all the tips hoping to book my first trip to WDW for 2024 or 2025 as I’ve only ever been to Disneyland Paris and going there again in 4 weeks for my 4th time and I think I would book pop century resort for my 1st trip as it looks amazing! For now I will just keep watching vlogs like yourselves as it gives me a great insight of the parks etc.

I don’t know if it’s changed but pre-covid you could bring your own food into the parks. We went for 5 days and ate breakfast included at the hotel, brought sandwiches and granola bars in the backpack for lunch, so we only really “ate out” for themed snacks at the parks and dinner! You can save a decent amount of money with food If you limit it to one or two meals per day. The other thing to budget for that you don’t really think about is all the things you have to buy for the flight/traveling like: toiletries/makeup/sunscreen, if you need different clothes/shoes, backpack or water bottle for the trip, luggage etc. Just something to think about! I had to budget an extra $200-$300 for those things.

I’d highly recommend doing a two centre holiday, book a couple of nights at a universal hotel it saves the taxi money plus if you stop at a deluxe resort you get the express pass included x

Thanks Brogan 😊 we had our first ever trip last year. 1. Did you have to sign the receipt for using a debit card? 2. And did you have to go over to the terminal? We had to sign every time we used our no fee credit card, and had to go over to the terminals behind the bars in sit down restaurants.

Hi! I’m a cast member at Disney Land Paris and I remember you said in your vlogs you didn’t particularly enjoy the food while you were in Paris last time. Here are some places I personally enjoy, I hope you get to slot them in! Firstly, Caseys Corners Hot dogs for lunch! Annettes Diner in Disney Village for dinner (the queue gets really long so prepare for that). I’ve not personally been, but a lot of people have spoken highly of the new restaurant in Marvel too! Can’t wait to maybe bump into you❤️

Although I did think £9000 for 2 people is a lot, over the past few years with the pandemic a lot of us have not been away, not been spending. With that in mind, along with the fact you vlog the whole thing AND everything health wise that happened with Benj.... I think it's worth it. If you save, and you want to spend it - why not. In response to 'is the magic still there?', I went to WDW for the first time in May and although the magic might be different for those that go regularly as a first timer I couldn't imagine there being any more magical. It was the most incredible experience and I couldn't recommend it enough.

I agree! The magic will ALWAYS be there for me, but I have lowered expectations and had to understand the different systems in place as we go along. I strongly believe things are getting better though ☺️ So glad you loved your trip!! xx

Im staying at Pop later in the year and it was purely for the Skyliner, stayed at Art 2019 and felt like we had a daily hike to just go back and forth to quick serve. I booked 2022 for 2023 and have already done my park reservations, but since Bob Iger they have made changes, you can now amend which park you choose, don't think you could do that before

Yesss!! I'm so glad you can easily change the parks now, you used to have to cancel it and make a whole new one. Not sure how quickly they are selling out, but I wish they would just scrap them. Seems silly!

Brogan! 100% agree with your cons we went 2019 and had the most magical trip, went 2022 November and we were so bummed it was so noticeable the difference and I know people say you're just trying to chase that original high basically. But no it's the detail, photopass was awful, the toilet paper was terrible, no mouse keeping was a real let down, we stayed at pop and honestly even when they cleaned our room it wasn't great the floors got so dirty and their clean was literally swap towels and replace bedding. Some of the food like tou said had gone down in quality we ate at boma and it was great 2019 and not great at all 2022 won't eat there again. We obviously still had great memories with characters and doing the new rides but it's a bummer and definitely agree some cast members just weren't pleasant. On the other hand we went to Disneyland on our way home and had the most magical experience ever, we didn't stay on property but the cast members were all fantastic, the food is such top quality and magical.

I COMPLETELY agree about the photopass photo quality. The automatic camera for Mickey is awful and missed a truly magical moment with my nephew which I’m still gutted about, and the quality of photos around the parks were really hit and miss. We stopped at 4 different photographers on Main St and only go in focus, good composition photos from one photographer (who incidentally we also had the best interaction with!)

If it helps, we have used the Disney water fountains multiple times on multiple trips (and also the bottle refill stations in galaxy’s edge) and have been fine. I think you’re more likely to catch something like touching the surfaces etc because it’s a high traffic area. So just take hand gel :) the water itself is fine.

I stayed at Pop in October, couldn't fault it! The quick service was great, the pools were nice, rooms were lovely. And the skyliner was a short wait for us when we were rope dropping, only time I waited a while was from Epcot after the fireworks. I think next time I will stay at a universal hotel for 2 nights and get the fast passes for the rides. Then move over to Disney for the rest of the trip! We Uber'd to Universal whilst at Disney and it soon wracked up the pennies, that we could've just spent on a hotel stay.

My partner and I used to go to Disney every 2 years like clockwork. Since we've been able to travel again and the intense rising cost of Disney that just keeps going up and up and now that it costs over £7,000 when we priced it we've decided to give up going back again. 7,000 is a lot of money just for a holiday to be fair.

I loved your vlogs. We’ve not been to Disney since pre covid and so many things have changed. Our next trip has been my dream since I was 6 to take my own children so I’m very excited. Pop is probably our favorite resort we've stayed at. Will be staying there for our 3rd time in Aug. Like you, we're just never in the room or at the resort much so spending a ton extra for a moderate (deluxe is way out of our budget) just seems silly. We went the first week of Dec in 2021 and it was pretty busy, but revenge traveling was very high. So glad you both enjoyed the trip. Looking forward to the DLP vlogs.

Agree 100% with you on O’Hana being underwhelming. We have been going to Disney for 20 years and just managed to make it to O’Hana for breakfast this past July and we were sorely disappointed. Food was counter service quality and atmosphere was dated.

One way you can save money if from UK is wait till the deals are out usually around March or April could be slightly later but for the following year. I booked 2022 for 2023. At the beginning of the deal, you get a $200 gift card when the deal is coming to an end this drops to $100. Then depending on which grade of the hotel you will get a credit that can be used for gifts or meals. I booked mine in September 2022 so got a $100 gift card and staying at Pop Century and received $235 credit.

Absolutely use Revolut (or similar) for spending in WDW / Orlando - you get a way better FX rate and it doesnt require a pin when swiping at restaurants etc. Game changer - saved about €200 in our last trip from FX and fees.

I did first two weeks of May in 2022 and it was SO HOT. Never again ahahah I agree on the Pop, it is my favourite as well, last time we booked CBR because of the skyliner and it was really nice too. About renting a car, we did it in 2016 bc it was our first time, only for Universal and groceries, in 2019 as well because we went to Kennedy Space Center. Last year we didn’t and I found it was more cheaper with Uber and less tiring

That’s funny cause my photo pass photos were great and even when visiting Anna and Elsa they had a photo box but I got good photos and my feet in them. I also got my feet in the photos with mickey and Minnie in their 50th outfit, can’t remember if they had a box camera or not though. The photographer at Hollywood studios at night that did lightsaber photos was amazing and really took their time and gave you poses as well as did what ones you wanted. I went in august 2022.

We used genie plus on our final day of a 14 day trip and have to say I hated it. Felt I was on my phone lots and trying to get rides near each other without crossing park was difficult. It was a sold out day in magic Kingdom which I'm sure had an impact. I would stick to individual lightening lanes in future. We have kids who are up early so took advance of rope drop. Skyliner in October had long lines prior to opening but moved so quickly once open.

Park reservations were a nightmare for us. They were cancelled / disappeared from my app twice during our two week stay. Food was overpriced and not great. Hope they bring back the dining plan and scrap the park reservations. I love Disney but not in a rush to return to be honest

Welcome to the sh$t show that is the good ole US of A. Your cons are all valid imo. Unfortunately good help is hard to find these days hence the room service every 4 days. Reservations at the park are to try and still control Covid even though I got it in July after returning from Disney. You are correct, though the magic is there!!! I enjoyed all of your vlogs! Park reservations have nothing to do with controlling Covid. If they were worried about it, they wouldn’t be cramming people into every available space in queues. Park reservations are simply about Disney’s control, staffing, and ultimately, their bottom line.

I always pack at least one towel from home on my trips because their towels are thin & so small! My hair is so long that their towels don’t absorb all of the water. 🤦‍♀️

Our biggest issue was a crew member physically slammed a door on a small child, watch him fall then walked away.. the rest was great 👍 lol
