Hi can you help with the names/info for some breeders of this dog. I've been looking and I haven't found any. Thanks, Brock

This basically looks like a better English Mastiff type, but less lazy and lumbering, a little like the American Mastiff which is English Mastiff crossed with Kangal (a 40+yo breed) to give it Health and Longevity and a much drier & tighter mouth (less, if any, drool) and less floppy skin.

The English Mastiff has been ruined by the UK kennel club its disgusting! I've seen pictures of my great grandads English Mastiffs very muscular and functional more like an extremely extremely large American bulldog not like today's sofa mutants , it's a shame its been ruined because it originates from the old British war dog pugnases brittanie that the tribes here had , the Romans wrote about these dogs saying they were superior to anything they had ie molosus , cane corso and took them back to Italy to fight in the areans against bears and lions so it must of been some dog ey! Such a shame maybe someone will bring back the proper English Mastiff but it certainly won't be the kennel club twats who've ruined it

Good presentation. I was looking at these dog, which are new to me. I have 3 Vizsla's. Looking for a dog. I broke it down to getting another Vizsla, but they do need to run off leash. Also like, yellow lab and Vizsla mix. I'm interested in Broholmer, which come to the slobber. Do they slobber enough for some drip or will they turn a carpet in marsh land.

I've quizzed Broholmer breeders / owners about this, and the general consensus was that they aren't big droolers. It's the breeds with the excessively pendulous lips that drool the most, and that isn't the Broholmer.

Trying to get one in the USA has been impossible, trying to get one in Finland & fly over there to pick it up. 😤

If these are recommended for seniors, there better be some caveats to that explained. Are they at all prone to pulling on lead? Oh, also I spoke to a breeder who said the few that were exported to the USA years ago all had Degenerative Myelopathy, so we have none here. Really a shame.

Dane here. I've never had one myself, but the ones I've met seemed really chill while on the leash - likely a result of a combination of temperament and good training. I'm not sure if it's still like this, but it may still be that, If you own one here I'm Denmark, the dog is automatically a part of a national breeding program, as the number of individuals are still low. It almost died out after WWII It's described as a breed that likes to keep close to its owner, and is fairly mellow and tolerant, which may be why seniors could benefit from having one as they are also intelligent.

I have a rottweiler/Catahoula Leopard dog mix that looks EXACTLY like this breed. The resemblance is ridiculous!! Only difference is my dog has black nails and a slightly more rottie shaped head.

Yes - both super-attractive 'rectangular' dogs ... except a fit and healthy male Labrador will get up to 80lb/36kg, while a fit and healthy male Broholmer could reach 150lb / 68kg or more.
