The vegetables that are still good go to the food bank other food that whil expire that day will get a sticker whit 25 percent of and is some super markets you pay 25 cent for the product. And of course a lot of food still gets wasted. Next time come with an argument instead of saying something without an explanation :) !

I work at an albert heijn and i asked why the reason was they threw everything away. apparently in the beginning they gave all the leftover food to a homeless shelter but someone got ill and sued the albert heijn. after that they stopped doing it. still super bad tho. and the reason why you couldn't get free coffee at that albert heijn was because its a mini version of it. you get free coffee at the normal albert heijns

The food isn’t actually being thrown away. In part 1 you could see a lady take some sandwiches out of the shelves because they were old or something. These sandwiches and other food that’s out of date is being transported to a factory where they make food for animals like cats or dogs out of them.

2:03 you have a lot of Albert Heijn stores in the Netherlands. Only the big stores/supermarkets have coffee machines in them were you can take free coffee from. The store you went in was just a small Albert Heijn "to go" in the city centre (like a pop-up store). They don't have any coffee machines in there that can be used by costumers.

Well a lot of homeless and poor people get money from the goverment. There are big organisations like the “voedselbank” where they get food and other basic supplies from they cant afford. Futhermore there are also special shelterplaces where the homeless can go if its cold. At last we have an app like to good to go where u can buy almost over date food from. U actually dont really see homeless people on the street that much. At least I cant remember when I saw a homeless person for the last time

Little bit of advice: there are 2 kinds of albert heijn's, the regular one and the 'to go' kind. The 'to go' will have the same products, but more expensive as its a version of the store usually found at trainstations for people who are in in a rush. The regular ones, which dont show the to go sign anywhere occasionally also have free coffeemachines.

We have an app here, it’s called "too good to go" that goes against food waste. You can order a surprise box of leftover food from stores and restaurants through that app and pick up your Box at the assigned time. The AH to go in the metro station at Centraal station participiates in it also😉

There used to be in Frederiksplein AH but they removed the machine in about 2014/5 because of those guys. Even the one on the Stadhouderskade doesn't have free coffee. I think the most central appie with the free coffee machine is Wibautstraat. Really it is supposed to be for elderly Dutch people to sit and chill with a coffee whilst shopping.
