@@Mannyfresh2023 there’s gonna be those people in every industry. I have to get my learners permit in ATL then call prime back & start the process. I’ve been wanting my CDL for years but between felonies, probation & speeding tickets, it never happened. I feel like I’m starting late at 34 but I plan on getting all the endorsements available & constantly pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I’m hoping to start as tanker and within 5yrs be hauling oversized, double or military/government from here to Canada &/or Mexico. Then in 10yrs I’d like my own brokerage & freight company with 15-30 trucks. But, if I can net $300k a year without all of that overhead & stress then I probably wont pursue any further than that point.

@@HostileGingerATL Thats wusup. You got your goals set thats awesome . 34 years old is not late . I have army and navy vets in my classroom and there senior citizen’s. My class also has a bunchbof retired old heads that are home owners, getting there cdl too

@blacklegacyassets OK. So no way of getting it in cash. I'll have to figure something out then before I go. Only bill back home I'll have is a garage I rent to store my one car in and all they accept is bank transfer or money order.

I'm looking forward to taking this plunge.. but I'm also very hesitant and nervous.. but right now I'm working about 15 hours a week at a Dollar General and it ain't enough. I'm tired of being broke.. 😅 But on the other hand I don't know if I can learn the backing.. I can back up a car trailer no issue.. but a 53 foot long trailer is a totally different animal..

My wife and I are getting hired on with Wilson. They have exact pay structure. We are looking forward to it. We have already completed drug test and on boarding. We start our training April 8th. Hope to get to meet ya one day and 51 Logistics!

​@whenboysetsfire1 I did alot of research. Prime is giant and a huge turnover. I like the more personal approach Wilson has. I test Thursday after being here for 3 weeks training. My wife already tested and passed her first time. So for us it 30 thousand miles. The the last 30 thousand miles we team together. She leaves tomorrow with her trainer for her OTR training. These people know me by my name its like a family! If you research and choose Wilson please us my name (Melvin Morales) my recruiter is Ray Hutchins. He made the selection process easy for us. Wilson has the Kraft contract and also haul alot of Prime freight!

What time do you usually get to the hotel each day during the classroom phase? Because I can just work Uber for 2 or 3 hours for extra money after schooling.

Is it true that if your doing flatbed or tanker that you only have to do 35,000 miles instead of 50,000 miles if you do reefer?

I'm in the process in getting my cdl. Does prime hire current CDL holders with no experience?? Prime was my 1st option to join. I have been seeing people on line say they wont hire current cdl drivers with atleast 6 months experience? Is this true?

@TwiztedD just called the recruiters and yes you need 6 months OTR experience🙄. They need to update the website. Got my hopes up for nothing.
