My uncle and his family (he raised many children alone) had an outhouse outside next to the pig pen lol. I remember like it was yesterday. No running water just the shack and toilet paper or newspaper to do the job. I was little and it was fun being able to use the small seat hole as there were 3 sizes to use lol😅

Don’t be embarrassed. WhenI was growing up we had a toilet that we always had to fill the tank manually to flush. I was terribly embarrassed as a teen but now at my age I like eh forget about it 😂.

Our bathroom's are a hot mess. One has no shower or tub. The other has a tub that needs to be replaced. Not to mention sub floors. Your bathroom is beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ We freeze our seeds, which keeps them viable. Flower seeds I refrigerate.

fatwood can be found in the north or south, anywhere there are conniferous trees like pine, spruce or fir. it is thge resinous wood that is left behind when the wood around it rots after a tree dies

Fat lighter is what we called it in Georgia. It is pine. dried pine with the sap. the sap makes it burn forever. you could cut all that up in 1 inch cubes and it will light a fire!

I laughed when I heard the comment you made about your bathroom. Our last house started out as a 2 room shotgun that was added on to room by room. Our bath was part of the back porch. Hubs had to step into the kitchen to dry off after a shower even after taking the sink cabinet out and putting in a tiny pedestal sink. I could barely turn around. The toilet and tub almost touched. On the other side of the wall were the steps to get into the kitchen from outside. So I feel your pain. Never be ashamed of your home. Blessings

I also have a 1 butt bathroom:) no flush toilet. Sink is Not hooked up, use tub to wash hands over bucket ,yep and use water to flush the toilet. Til I can fix it up...1908 home

I don’t think anyone needs to ever be embarrassed by what they have or don’t have. Maybe you choose not to fix your bathroom sink bc it isn’t top priority and you’d rather use your money somewhere else. You have such a great idea for a work around! I choose not to replace things in my home too.

We always called it fat lightered wood. I’m in the south so yea but we call it fat lighter or fat lightered wood. Smells awesome. Comes from the pine tree. And a small piece goes a long way. We don’t waste it.

Your bathroom is cozy. & clean,you aren't throwing a party are you.. How many do you wsnt in there. Mine is small& so is hubbys. We only redid floors& painted.We had to replace 1 toilet& my shower faucet.His tub needs new faucet,my sink was done 14 yrs ago.Thjs house was built in1972 . Everything goes at once,you know..still paying off Waterheater& my new washer.I had that washer& never had trouble/ 14 yrs& capoot!People around me have money,we are poor/ but blessed. My mom gave us house.😊 We enjoyed our life,now we take it easy,hubby still works,but has been ill. Hopes to retire soon/ should of gotten disability yrs ago. Awesome video...girl you bathroom is huge compared to ours. We don't have any cabinet space and there is no way two people can be in ours. We did have to buy a shelf for above the toilet....and we have a motion light for the night time. And, fat wood is normally a pine wood...it has a lot of sap in it ....we use it all the time❤❤❤❤❤️

If you will be having a wood stove this winter then I would save the fat lighter for that. It is for starting fires in stoves and fire places. It catches and burns quickly. Daddy had some by our wood stove all ways.

Fat wood is pine or cedar trees. When small I always went with my parents in the Fall to gather wood from the woods for kindling. Love the smell and look of cedar. You can also use pine cones.

We fat lighter its pine trees I love smelling it they make turpentine out of it and Pine-Sol. It’s a big thing in the south and believe me it will catch up fast. You’ll love it.

Tessie, we use solar motion lights all around our house. I have two in the bathroom, and yeah, sometimes I have to move to get them to come back on. I put them outside in the morning, then bring them in at night. They're cheap too. Works great for us. In the kitchen, they are perfect for when you get up at night for a snack or something to drink. I have them in closets too, but those only have to be recharged about once every two weeks. I love them.

Tessie if you know someone that has pine forest you can collect fat wood. It is the pieces that collect resin so they don’t rot when after the tree falls down. It burns well because of the resin it contains.

Good morning, Tessie. A friend of mine from Louisiana just bought and told me about Fatwood; it's great that you have so much. Our bathroom is the same size; like you said, it suits our needs. Having just what we need is really all that is necessary for any of us, despite what the world tells us. Bigger doesn't equate with better. Using the jug with the spigot is an excellent idea; if/when we lose power, we lose our water, too (we have a well). It would be good for us to have one on hand. Your bathroom is about the size of my bathroom. It's the only bathroom in my home. And we have raised 6 plus people here. I remember when I lived in a mobile home many years ago, Our washing machine and dryer was actually in the bathroom behind the door. Our bathroom was small.The only difference was we had two sinks. Back then I only had one child my oldest And then expecting number 2, but we knew before that child was born. Your bathroom is very cute. Fatwood comes from pines trees, also called firewood or fire-starter wood. It is from the center, you have to be careful because it has a lot of resin which collects on inside of fireplaces/stoves and can cause chimney fires if not cleaned regularly. Great for outside fires. Another great fire-starter wood is sassafras, not near the resin, we use this all the time and much prefer it.

How many people should fit in a bathroom?😅 Fat wood is from the base of conifer trees. You have it in your state. Pine trees. I know you have deciduous trees, leafy trees. The container works well in your bathroom.
