I was an officer in the Army for nearly 10 years. I still do not understand why the only humane, sensitive, honest people I have met are militaries. You do not find that kind of individuals in civilian life : except maybe in law enforcement, health care, firemen. We need a conscription. We need a way to teach people what it means to be responsible for others... what it really means to be a citizen.

There are a few of us, but I am from a family with MIL relatives and most of my friends growing up were either from MIL or LE families. It took me many years before I finally joined LE in a non-enforcement capacity (search and rescue) . But I agree, there does seem to be less personal responsibility and integrity displayed in most people I come in contact with as well. Given the nature of the moral decline in this nation, I'm not surprised.

Outstanding interview! “PTSD, Time to Heal” also emphasizes writing by hand; it activates a part of the brain that’s logically driven which dampens the emotion of the memory, making it easier to process. Let it sit a month and only then share it if you want. Verbalizing can retraumatize. Going back to it also allows for anything addition that might come up or anything that was misremembered to fall away.

This is what I try and do. I do not try and control my anger per say but I do always try and improve discipline. So when I get heated, I try and intensify that emotion I am feeling mentally and sometimes I may even make a little noise but I intensify it until I cannot do it anymore and I see the foley of it and try and learn why I am feeling this. And then I do my best to release it. And hopefully next time it doesn’t make me so unbalanced. It’s hard to explain. But it has helped me and maybe it can help someone else. I think that the main thing is recognize the issue and also realize that many times there isn’t a right way. And there may be many ways to get that box checked. I have also tried to keep my world small. Not escapism but trying not judge myself. Or anyone else which seems to always get the negative flowing for me. For example, worrying about which people are trying to ruin the planet or who is deceiving knowingly in order to control or to get mfers to knowingly give away their freedoms etc. I zoom in on my life. And my family thank god. Anyways. Yeah we need less filter. Thanks I appreciate it. Rant out.

Great show, I can relate to him with his mother. My mom was diagnosed with Scleroderma and she got into a car accident not to long after that and rolled her jeep. And she got hooked on pain pills was doctor shopping. We were born the same year but this happened to me during my very early teens. It wasn't pretty. My mom eventually passed away but those few years of that were pretty brutal. Back then doctor shopping wasn't real mainstream and the opiate plague wasn't really out there like it is now.

Although I was born in the PNW the shit show started when we lived in Barstow waiting on housing on Fort Irwin (We moved from Fort Lewis). The dammed dessert fucks up peoples brains, and after that almost everything Sean talks about ramped up once we moved back to the PNW. The family get together fights, and hiding as a kid part hit me hard.................I know that struggle all to well. I forgot half of everything I went through growing up, but the memories popped back up as this video went on. I swear to god my two little girls will not go through what I did!
