When it wasn't decaying it was still an eyesore. It is a typical concrete monstrosity before days of stricter planning. Not really anything to do with neglected Britain and seeing as new expensive houses are still being built directly within its shadow I don't think Louth people are that bothered. However most would like to see it gone.

I live in louth and I always walk past the ABM and wonder what it is like inside but since it shut down I didn't think many people had been inside as it is full of aspestos! :(

Lynn Selby it's creepy in there trust me my friend almost died when we snook in there because of radiation or something

the reason why this building hasn't been demolished is because of aspestos.....it's just left to rot!!...it'l cost millions to demolish coz if it!!!

i live in louth and i am kind of enamoured with this old hulk of a building. i live about ten mins walk away and i love to walk past it and just look up at it on clear days. does anyone know when it actually shut down? been trying to read up on its history but no clear information after 1980s

JCBAirmaster73 it's still standing but the demolition has begun, did you not see the gaping hole on the side that faces away from the industrial estate?

JCBAirmaster73 i have lived in Louth since 2001. Resented it for how boring it was growing up but now I see it certainly is a special little town, in it's own way. It's attractive, as you say, and i guess it just feels like home to me haha
