I've done similar repairs on my old Ranger, the rear broke like this in several spots, the front just had some cracking. I can say once plated over, it often holds up very well to get some more years of use. Good job getting some more life out of it.

Thanks for watching and commenting! That’s great you saved your old ranger, hope you get many years out of it as well.

Solid repair job on that old girl to get it patched back together without spending much time & money to do it. Yikes what a busted up frame

Thanks! I’m not a professional welder and I’m sure I made some mistakes, keeping some of this old iron working is interesting. Glad you watched

Dayyyyym I was expecting a rusty pile of junk. But man that poor truck got hammered! Keep it going
@fastdadgarage-northsouthch441811 ай бұрын
Yeah the frame was basically rust free. It’s just had a hard life! Thanks for watching

First thought was scrap it. Then I realized,if it was my rig, I would also have done my best to salvage the ol' truck.
@fastdadgarage-northsouthch441811 ай бұрын
Yup, that truck has been close to going to the scrap yard for a couple years now. Always hoping for one more winter. Thanks for watching

You need to cover the whole crack the frames just gonna tear where the pieces are welded on.

I’m guessing it will be back sooner then later. I’ll post when it does. Thanks for watching

Hey buddy Hell of a try. Like you said 15 miles per hour on the farm . Wy not try. Nice job.

@@Jimmyjo769 it made it thru the plow season this winter, I was happy to see that. It doesn’t get much use in the summer so it should at least start the next plow season,,, thanks for watching.

Actually not much rust. On the front at least. Do you use any undercoating? I don't see anything wet
@fastdadgarage-northsouthch441811 ай бұрын
It was never really on the road and usually stored inside. I don’t think it had anything other than a little paint. Good observation

I've seen this in 1/2 tons also , pretty sure they had some shite steel , not plow trucks either. Grind cracks thin and get a full pen weld - grind smooth and do some frame boxing
@fastdadgarage-northsouthch441811 ай бұрын
I wish I could’ve welded on the inside of the frame, just to much in the way. Hoping they get one more winter…we’ll see. Thanks great suggestions

Only seen the broken frames on the big block not the 350s
@fastdadgarage-northsouthch441811 ай бұрын
This truck is a 3500 with a 6.5 turbo diesel. The frame cracks looked like a jigsaw puzzle..lol Thanks for watching
@steved.562811 ай бұрын
@@fastdadgarage-northsouthch4418 absolutely! Love the truck! I made a lot of money with these trucks. The fact it’s a 6.5 makes it even better. Good luck keep us posted.

The frame was virtually rust free, it has had a tough life. The plow is 9’2” and weighs a lot. Thanks fir watching

Frames are too thin for a 1 ton. Shame in GM!
@fastdadgarage-northsouthch441811 ай бұрын
I will say carrying a 9’2” plow around for 20+ years didn’t help. Thanks for commenting

WOW??? Has this truck been plowing parked cars or curbs? How many years plowing 25 i guess thats not that bad. A Ford would snap in the first year. Nice job on the gussets it may need some 2'' AR plate added they way that guy must be running that plow;0

If you watched my 2008 dodge plow truck repair from last year you’ll see how these trucks have been operated. Pretty much Wild West on snow. Thanks for watching
