This is insane, no proper measurements, no material checks, how doesn't even know the 2 materials? All of the same properties. Height of insanity, i get necessity, is a mother of invention. The machining process itself would have significant impact on the piece since it was not controlled. No coolant and proper lubrication of the tools and the materials.
