I think it should be noted that while you can keep doing loops, especially if it's to dodge enemy attacks, your Arvess Hammer is still what you're after. Any time you have Arvess Hammer charged up, you want to use it as soon as possible. If you did 3 loops, Arvess Hammer. If you have Vengeful Flames on, do the tech to count one loop as two, so that you can do Arvess Hammer after 2 loops. If you get Link Strike, use it and use Arvess Hammer immediately. In Link Time, spam Arvess Spear -> 1 Loop -> Arvess Hammer, as you need only 1 loop during link time to fully charge Hammer. 7:43 Also, when Link Strike pops, quickly use your finisher and go into Link Strike after that. You are wasting your effort of getting into the air and wasting that damage potential if you just go to Link Strike immediately. Edit May 2024: Looping cap increased, might be worth to keep looping until your Arvess Spear is ready again, not sure about the exact math.

Came here to say this. Hammer will always scale way more than the loops. If you want to keep looping you can wait to hammer until you see the stun gauge is close enough to a link attack, use hammer to trigger the link, link and go straight into another max damage hammer. OR if you want to avoid going through a full ground combo you can wait until Spear is back off cool down to do a Hammer so you can Spear and go right back into the air. Whichever is quicker. Depends on the situation obviously. But bottom line is more Hammer combo finishers rather than looping more

Im no expert but I was pretty sure 3 loops into finisher then autocombo (or Spear of Arvess) back into the loops was the optimal rotation. Is that not the case when this geared out or something? During Link Time you should utilize the quick cooldowns to go Spear of Arvess > 1 loop (during link time you only need 1) > finisher > repeat until Link Time ends. After a Link attack you can launch up and immediately hit the finisher button without any loops for the same full finisher as a normal 3 loop rotation. You can dodge in the air to stall your loop combo or finisher if the boss would hit you with something on your next attack.

Gae Bulg is actually a spear from popular Iris Mythology :) Fun fact its the "same" spear used by lancer in Fate - the spear that you cant heal the wound from being cut by. @@wavybabe797

@@wavybabe797 Well its not exactly a ff14 reference, its from mythology and like many other names, is a very popular name for spear type weapons The same applies to another spear called brionac (theyre in both ff14 and granblue) apparently It really goes for a ton of names in video games or really anything, lots of times these names stem from mythology or some other type of ancient history Also speaking of which, just earlier i was doing a relic step for that exact dragoon relic lol

I find firm stance to be a pretty high priority secondary on sigils above stuff like drain. At max level, it will prevent the boss overdrive shockwaves from interrupting your combos to potentially hit a break for bigger damage.

Do supplementary sigils stack with your self buff of supplementary damage? if it doesnt, is it still worth it to run them together? I'm also kinda iffy on the zeta debuff because I feel like its so easy to hit the damage cap with some buffs that the debuff feels completely useless and just an extra hassle to keep up.

They do! That's why supplementary damage is by far one of the best ways to increase your damage in the endgame since you're basically adding more hits rather than increasing stats which would hit the damage cap

When you use Vengeful Flames In the moment of doing the loop, if you let zeta go through the first light shining, there is a second opportunity letting you deal more damage and only needing 2 loops to use arvess hammer instead of 3

Though in another endgame guide I've heard that it's actually a damage decrease, because while it does get you to Hammer a bit faster, the 2nd loop takes longer without doing more damage, and that apparently causes an overall damage loss. Guess I'll test it again on the dummy for myself.

but this hidden tech is quite hard to pull off in real scenario, not to mention you've to deal with enemies moving so fast + the camera angle can mess up your timing as well. I feel like playing zeta against small and fast match ups are just annoying af.

This video was very well made, I know this was 3 weeks ago but I’m wondering if you plan to revise this with a more updated build? Also thank you for showing that you can get dmg cap and improved dodge, I’m after that or it on Tyranny but as of yet I haven’t had it. Saying that I did get a wrightstone that gave stun - 10 dmg cap - 7 dmg cap - 5 so I could remove a Sigil if I imbue on my weapon but what to change is kinda tough any suggestions? Btw I dropped a like and subbed you make good gran blue content and it’s appreciated

The Arvess Fermare debuff and any damage boosting skills such as Stamina and Tyranny are pretty useless as Zeta reaches maximum damage cap easily even without all of those. You can swap those skills out for other utility skills. Supplement Damage is the only damage boosting skill on top of the damage cap.

I just started the game and she's the first one I picked while leveling what sigils should I be focusing on? I think I'm using the first weapon you get from the city and I think I'm using crit hit rate II and exploiter II both my weapons I have are level 50 just not sure if I should use her starting weapon or the second one called huanglong spear

Huang long spear is pretty good, as for sigils, while your still learning the game dps is not what you should focus on. try have 1 or 2 damage sigils, but have more defensive sigils. Like aegis or the health boost, or if you struggle dodging something that helps with that. Whatever you have really or will help you, just use that, focus on dps in the late game when you try maximising your build

There’s a small flash of colour when you hit an enemy can be tough to see in a real battle though, the character Sigil gives you more time to do it and best to try and the enemies head or back instead of some smaller part like it’s hand as often the camera changes angle and you miss… apart from that grandcyper practice really helps get that tuning down but it takes a while to get perfect and is still easy to miss In the heat of a crazy battle

@@AnghelVick ah yeah that does sound awkward (I’m ps5 and on controller it feels a bit easier) If you need her awakening Sigil farm Assault Formation under survival (quest type) and sell the machine scraps and units to Siero as she gives tons of vouchers for them. Have you beaten Bahamut Versa yet btw? If so then transmarvelling sigils is where you get character specific ones from Siero as an extra option.

Depends where you are in the game, if it’s in proud difficulty then not worth using if maniac or lower and you have a good one then May as well. Btw zeta has reign of fire that debuffs atk that def counts hope this helps a bit more

Yes and in total you would need a lot of silver centrums and other loots to reach awakening 10. Siero does the awakening btw not the blacksmith

Well, at least according to the flawed dummy parses, Narmaya does like 10 million more damage in 60 seconds than anyone else. A difference of about 20%. Now, obviously, a lot of characters are not designed for this type of test, and it does not really say much about how much damage they could deal in an actual fight if played perfectly. I just think there is no evidence to suggest Zeta is top dps and you just made that up.

I think it's important to keep in mind the sigils, wrightstones etc. If you were to run the same ones, their damage is a lot more comparable. Like yeah I can add Glass Canon and skilled assault just to do more damage to the target dummy, but in an actual fight unless you play perfect you just lose dps by using those. Also 60s test is not the entire fight.. Zeta can consistently keep dealing damage, where as most characters have a much harder time doing so. That being said, I said she might just be the top dps, I'm not one to claim any character as being the definitive answer until we see proper spreadsheets and calculations being done. Those usually take months for a new game. A 60s target dummy test is not the answer, but it is a decent way to measure it, just not ideal. And games like MH and FF XIV have shown that to be the case for a good while.

@@darkhero2 I am a Katalina main so I know very well how these tests are flawed as Kat is a burst window character who benefits greatly from link time so obviously she does poorly in these tests. Just at the moment the only data we have points to Narmaya. I believe even without glass canon Narmaya out damages every other character. Although I have not really paid too much attention to the parses and such on the community discord. These parses are between people with completely maxed out characters though with same sigils, max terminus weapon etc. Narmaya does well over 40 million damage and most other characters can't even break 30 million and I think second place is like 35 million.

Just wanted to share that if you want to do more DPS on Zeta, always do combo finisher at 3rd loop, and then jump and do normal aerial attacks until you go into a loop. However, there are exceptions. If you think finishing your combo at 3rd loop will kill you then don't do it. Remain in the air doing loops until you know it is safe to land. A bit of more DPS uptime is better than a dead DPS. Also, during link time, the highest DPS is do 1 loop > Combo finisher > Spear of Arvess > repeat. It's a bit harder to execute but it is worth it if you want to be the MVP like I always do with my Zeta.

I’ve min-max my Zeta and she is actually incredible for endgame! You do have to invest a bit of time for her as you wouldn’t as much for other characters. People tend to go with the most offensive stats while you reach max dmg cap so quickly. The sole reason why people don’t really like her is because of her HP and how she is one shot most of the time which can be handled if you go with defensive stats sucj as improvement guard+ and Aegis +. I have yet to awaken her weapon so the sigil boost it’ll give me at the end will make my build even slightly stronger than it is right

I have very similar setup (fully awakened Terminus, damage cap, etc) minus War Elemental but my normal only hit like 120k unlike yours 150k, I wonder what I'm missing to lose damage that much.Time to grind the curios I guess.
