I love ambience and background images like this. You can create an entire backstory of the character or the scene. In this case, it can be both. My guess, since it's up on a hill, is that the knight fought for their lord in a battle unseen since days of old. He survived the battle, but knew he was succumbing to his wounds. He climbed up the hill, placed the sword into the earth, and took a final look back at the battlefield and his home far in the distance. He'd sit and lean against his sword, take one last glance towards the place he knew was safe, his duty fulfilled, and passed on in peace. Helps to combine everything together to make short scenes like this, and it can be fun to do!

Good piece of story but it would be better to say "He", i don't give a shit about pronouns or whatever and i don't care if you call him whatever but historically speaking only 68 women were ever knighted against thousands of men and of those 68 none fought in combat nor were any knights trans or whatever you wanna make them. He falls back, and winces as the sun's rays penetrate his helmet and sting his eyes. He knows he can't stay here. But he will rest for while. Soon, he will return to this place and accomplish that which he had set out to do. A knight is not defeated until he is dead, and he is not yet dead.

I just turned 25 a day before or on the same day as you, and I'm telling you in truth that you CAN find forgiveness & and a new purpose in life in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. But this life is a gift brother, and all it takes is to run to Jesus Christ for forgiveness of our sins and understanding that outside of Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, there is no hope. He will give you a reason to smile, and can take away your feelings of hatred and vengeance, for He is the righteous Avenger.

he who has a sword will not win the war, as wars are won by agony, in fact there is no 'winning' in war. It is he who has lost less, probably got scarred the most. i sit back watching as i shiver in my armor, i realize that the only armor who helps me is myself. The battle continues as blood is shed everywhere, i want to cry but i can't, scream but i couldn't, battling without thinking is my answer to it. everyone's dead i don't know what is my purpose now, is it searching for a new purpose, or is it agonizing over my choices as i quiver, maybe it is just realizing who i am rather than being a warrior. A warrior is my destiny's eternity, i do not think i have any other choice. Blood's shed, family's dead, i don't know when will be my time to bed so i can rest. Maybe it is not idly waiting for my time but striving for it as i did on the battlefield, maybe a warrior is a must in a man's heart to live a peaceful life, rather than a brutal one that's inevitable. i will find the answer in my life, as long as my inner demons don't die, because now i think i have realized that they are necessary for one's life to see what is not in front of his eyes. Live, strive, and no matter what, thy self shall die. My time will come as i keep living in this battle that we call 'life'.

I like to imagine this knight is the sole survivor of a battle, laying down gradually succumbing to the wounds inflicted upon him. In his last moments, he retraces the decisions that he made to end up bleeding out on this battlefield. He revisits the sight of his crying mother watching her only son go off to war. He recalls the pseudo-stoic face of his father battling his own anxities, knowing exactly the horrors his son will face. I also imagine him finding peace within himself, his surroundings, and his end. Overlooking the strung out bodies of his comrades and foes. Adorned with different armor, filled with different aspirations, nurtured in different homes, all of these men share the most significant day of their life together. Despite their differences, death unites them, their battle lines blurred, with men, not enemies, laying next to each other. There exists a certain serenity in the acceptance of death. A calming feeling washes over one, as the internal fire that once propeled one through this battle extinguishes. As the knight draws his last breath, he finds peace in the story that will be told when scavengers find his body in his armor. His last thought is of his mother's warm embrace, comforting him as he falls asleep and transcends to another adventure.
