I have a whole bunch of T-Bucket errors. Mixed wheels, missing grill, missing engine, missing interior. I could make an Error video on just the T-Bucket!

Well, you could bring it to the store staff, say it's "broken" (don't say it's an error), and you might be able to bring it home at a discount. They are glad that people would buy the 'broken' stuff because others will not pay to buy something that is an error (unlike hotwheels however) :3

Hehe, yes it's stuff like this that keeps me awake at night ;) Yeah, customizers sometimes use rivets or screws to re-attach bases but at the Mattel factory it's the post from the body that is spun (or pressed) down to fit both parts together...

Hmmm... Not riveted, spun post. It's curious that after all this time, I never thought about that. It is quite likely that I will revise my terminology. The post acts as a rivet. Customizers use rivets to re-assemble the base to the body. It looks like a rivet. I will have to research to see if it grammatically correct if "the post is flared to rivet the base to the body". You, my friend, have caused a disturbance in the cosmos =)

It is interesting for me to have one Monster Jam Error but I would not normally 'collect' these. It is a nice conversation piece, it would make an interesting video for a discussion, but like you said, it would be sad if a kid bought this to play with in this condition. There have been times when I took a toy to the Customer Service desk and let them know that they shouldn't sell it and now that I think about it, I would tell them that it was broken so that they would understand.

sadly the english language is overloaded with words that many people use in the wrong context....don't blame the kids blame the stupid complex language the way I see the error is the words...factory custom, and that way it has a nice ring to it when it comes to flog it on ebay to the highest bidder

No, it's called and "error". And there are many error collectors out there, including me. A Turbo Streak from the 1990's that was completely unrivited and was just a bunch of parts rattling arround in the blisterpack recently went for $30 on eBay.

I have seen errors like that on eBay! I make Custom Monster Trucks by drilling the body off, making it just the same way. So I would consider it an *Unassembled Error*, NOT a *Broken Error*! Even though you can fix it by hot or super gluing it. I mean, if the body would be assembled, but then played with hard, thus breaking the body, that would be *Broken.* If it broke in the package, it would be broken, but if it was just not rivited tightly enough it would be Unassembled or Incomplete.

I've been a collector of different things for many years.die cast cars 15 years,coins 21 years..not everything that's old is worth money,not everything that's worth money is old.just like race grooves said"it's only worth what someone is willing to pay".like in baseball,if you drop the ball it's an error, was not meant to happen...well, someone dropped the ball on the QC of the truck, it's a error.is a revell model broken if you haven't put it together?

I'd say, if it isn't all there, missing stuff, things bent or etc, then it's an 'Error'. Something finished and complete is the 'Product', anything else is an error in manufacturing or quality control. Too many errors is a none existent company shortly afterward !

Hot Wheels does this on purpose. And they are surely not nonexistent. They know there are error collectors out there, so they just let everything go out this way.

I'd be happy with the term 'broken'. You could say it's broken free of it's base. I personally wouldn't consider it cool or a collectible. any I get like this I always return the item to the shop for a refund. It's the only way Mattel will improve it's quality control. My own opinion is these things are still just toys It would be a such shame if an excited child was disappointed upon opening the package found the contents thus.

It's a faulty goods that's what it is. The sensible thing to do would be to take it back to the shop for a refund, failing that fix it yourself with a screw. If I spot something like this before I open them I take them back . I 'm not paying for faulty goods!

it is not broken because the full body isn't off just the front is so no it is not broken (ps) I have that same exact truck with the mud and it gets huge air when u have go over a ramp
