Cyberpunk should of been third person. It only makes sense with the time period of constantly modifying your body.

So True 3rd Person is the way! One of the MAIN things Cyberpunk 2077 needs is a 3rd Person Mode and Indiana Jones Too!

It never made sense to me that Halo has a lot of skins with customizable pieces but you couldn't see your armor. I don't want to work to finish a battle pass and then never see my prize

There has barely been any 1st person shooters this generation but certain games like doom eternal and the wolfenstein games wouldn't be as good if they were 3rd person.

When it comes to “shooters” I prefer first person but in everything else I agree 3rd person is better. I actually agree with BG that Indiana Jones should have been 3rd person.

Ocarina of Time had 3rd person mixed with fixed camera in castle town. I think 3rd person mixed with some fixed cameras Is a brilliant blend.

As an OG Halo guy, I don’t have a problem with it as long as both perspectives remain at the core of development. We all know Halo’s transition to 3rd person for vehicle usage always “felt good” and seamless since Halo CE so it seems like they decided to just stay in that perspective to see if it bring the Fortnite kids into the fold. I have to say it’s a smart tactic to make Halo relevant again. It’s legit interesting.

They needed the online to be like Halo Reach where you could actually unlock aesthetic upgrades for completing difficult challenges. This is a W for Halo Infinite though.

First person mode is always my go to. 3rd with kb/m seems to have a delay in movement. All real shooter competitive esports games are done in first person.

3rd person is good for flat screen play because it improves the strategic awareness of the player. Even when FPS games got super popular with the popularization of Xbox the limitations of an 80 degree FOV and only a mini thumb-stick for clumsy maneuvering the player has to compensate for. However, first person in VR is far superior to third person played flat. 3D audio, maneuverability, intuitive eye tracked targeting all make FP actually feel integrated with how you would actually perform these actions much closer to the way you would perform them IRL.

I do get your point I think it will help halo infinite's longevity. I've played Halo ce on pc as a child it amazed me seeing chief switch from first person to third when entering a vehicle and dismounting. This could split the playerbase which way should it be played but if you compare another genre like driving games which have 1st and 3rd, I would assume that 3rd person is the most used across the board in any driving games but if say forza horizon decided not to do 1st person driving it would be a very poor decision. So I do think it would need to find a happy balance being the fps game that we know but also a new perspective could bring new ways to play possibly even help players get better.

shooters are like the only time fps is kind of better( and that's in select cases like doom and halo) a lot of fps games still spaz out when the enemy is in close range first person melee has and will never be good(skyrim, chivalry,etc)

Yeah, that is the rumor on the streets. This is a test bed to see how it does and figure out how to implement it and optimize it. They already have game modes that include a pretty sizable player count, they have some pretty big maps on to begin with too, so a lot of bones of an official Halo battle royal
