The problem with Halo's version is that it's only half true. You can unlock it whenever, but some of the unlocks are time-sensitive. And usually it's the ones that they know the players are really after, and later on in the Battlepass. Found that out the hard way.

I don’t care what anyone says. Infinite’s campaign was the nail on the coffin. As bad as halo 5’s execution of its story was, it was salvageable. We knew what was happening and there was some level of continuity they felt natural. Then infinite went and threw it all away. Infinite’s story is a joke. After everything they put Cortana through they gave her a shitty offscreen death a replaced her with a pg cinnamon roll who they seem determined to just tune into Cortana 2.o rather then make her unique. The infinity got nerfed. The banished were just red covenant. THEY HAD ATRIOX AND THEY SIDELINED HIM. The endless were just an excuse to avoid the flood. I guarantee the writers don’t even know why they are yet. Locke? A helmet on a boss’s shoulder for decoration. Blue team? MIA. Arbiter? Not here. Doctor Halsey? Lasky? Plamer? Who knows? And people constantly try to give this campaign excuses for its slop. Where was that attitude with halo 5?? People will really take a campaign with no story over a campaign that wasn’t accurately advertised.

I just hopped on for the first time since the Winter Update, and I really gotta say, if Infinite had released back in 2021 like this, people would be hailing 343 as the saviors of Halo. It's such a shame we had to wait so long. So much of the content that's in the game now, like forge and firefight, is genuinely great. Turns out when you ACTUALLY devote six years of dev time to a game (instead of just like two-ish and claiming you spent six like the devs did back in the day), you can actually make a pretty good game!

@@wut-se8hznot really a handful of people (less than 5% of the games community) have been terrorising halo MCC for a year now and we have yet to have this issue fixed. The issue includes these players being able to ban people from game and forcefully take over their controls which are major issues. Alongside the fact that the halo games they make are only halo in name doesn’t really help either.
