Prestigeless, clear and to the point! Thanks for taking the time, these instruction videos are invaluable for amateur mechanics, like myself, in complementing service manuals. I always look for one, before making some new repair or service on my bike (even though I passed the oil-change-level quite a few years ago 😀)

Hi, I changed oil for my first time, and it bothers me if I inserted correctly the screen after having cleaned it. Is it possible to having put it wrong if I was able to tight the bolt correctly and it doesn't leak? Can I check if I inserted it correctly without draining the bike again?
@BrokenSprocket4 жыл бұрын
Laying the bike on it's side will stop oil from coming back out if you need to check it out but it should be good.

When I remove the bolt with the screen, I attach the screen to the plug before I put it back in. That way, you don't accidently crush the plastic as it has to fit into the hollow bolt area. @@NZXTcucco

Try to use medical syringe next time to drain all leftover oil from inside. Where needle goes put a hose similar to drain hose on tank. And just use suction power of syringe. You can use it also for cooling system,if you want to add a bit oil and not make a mess around,for draining brake and clutch oil easy from uper reservoirs. And it also have pretty precise measurements for volume on the side. Im using it all the time ✌️

Thanks for the video! I think you accidentally said 7.4 Nm for the filter bolts. It's actually 7.4 Ftlb According to my manual for the Xc-f, the torque specs are: Drain plug = 14.8 Ft-lb = 20 Nm 13mm screen plug = 11.1 Ft-lb = 15 Nm Filter bolts = 7.4 Ft-lb = 10 Nm

Kindly note that when replacing the oil filter you will be using than 1L of engine oil. The oil filter housing needs to be filled to about 1/3 full with engine oil. After that is taken care of, the oil reservoir needs to filled with 1L of engine oil. So overall, you will be using approximately 1.2L of engine oil.
