Wild Rift: SOLOQ VS PREMADESQ

Most people think there are still only two types of ELOs, low and high. But because of the MMR system, there is a third ELO every ex Master+ is in until they climb back: Smurf ELO. Smurf ELO requires a completely different strategy to solo climb than low and high ELO. I have been cruising through Smurf ELO solo as a jungle/support main implementing these strategies: 1. Ban enchanter supports and encourage your team to do so as well. They are the key to almost all Duo/Trio boosting strats. This consists of the Unholy Trinity of Janna, Lulu, Le Cat. I ban Janna because I think she is currently better than the other 2 at keeping carries alive. 2. Do not play Support. Why? Gold and XP diff. The support items will not let you get Smurf ADC levels of gold and XP even if you are as good as Broken. Sucks for me as a second support main but my third main role is Kassadin 1 trick so I queue mid second now. 3. Play champs that can solo carry by doing at least one of 4 things and solo carry to their win condition: 1) Single Target Damage (ex assassins). Wincon: kill fed smurfs yourself. 2). Lockdown (single target CC). Ex. Vi, Rammus, AP Nautilus. Wincon: perma stun fed carries to death. Repulser enchant helps too. Very effective against teams with multiple assassins. Make sure the champ you play doing this can also kill carries themselves if needed. 3). Split Pushing. The only low ELO and High ELO strat that still works in this MMR. But you need to play champs that really excel at it like TF, FIora, Jax, Sion. Top and Mid are the best roles for this but junglers and ADCs can too in the right circumstances. 4) Replace the ADC. Play ADC urself or play a champ that can fill the void of your potato ADC such as Gwen, Nilah, the Wind Brothers, and Shyvana. Hope it was at least a little helpful to someone struggling in Smurf ELO. It’s the most toxic and demoralizing ELO to be in. And remember as Papa Broken said: 1 wave = 1 kill.

Sounds cool. But hmm I quit at D1 last season - am I in smurf queue now or not? On the one hand, I was climbing (stopped playing for a while a week ago); on the other hand, my win condition is decent teammates rather than weak opponents. I often play Janna, Lulu and Soraka this season. I sometimes duo though. But 99% of time soloq.

⁠@@Kyokkasounds like you’re almost at Smurf ELO since it playing enchanter supports solo is still working great for you; you have never hit Masters. You will hit Smurf ELO the season after you hit Master for the first time. It happened to me last season after I hit Master and almost GM for the first time two seasons ago. Was not prepared for Smurf ELO last season because of it and failed to climb back to Master. This season I implemented the above strategy after struggling again the first month of the season and am cruising through it now mainly playing Jungle and Mid with Vi, Rammus, Eve, and Kassadin. Account WR is 52 percent but since I implemented the strat Weekly Win Rate based on the reports they give you every Monday has been at least 58 percent, got 70 percent on one of them. 100% solo. As long as I can grind out enough games I am definitely hitting at least GM for the first time this season. Obviously if you play duo you can still play support no problem. It’s my 2nd main role so that’s why I am asking Broken for dating advice on getting a duo partner lol.

@@PlasmaKingSnake I was Master twice, just not the last season xD but I feel like I will be still put to struggle when I can play ranked again, bc this game punishes me even for 2 days-long breaks, it feels like my mmr gets reset or smth every time, I get 5-8 horrible games in a row after breaks :(

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@KyokkaOh ok yeah you are are in it then. Didn’t know that you hit Master before that. Smurf ELO is hell. Rito Gomes never resets your MMR every season but the matchmaker will consider your demoted rank and whether or not you are in a duo/trio and will always match you against at least one high ELO player with Emerald-Diamond peakers so it is a race of which Smurf can carry harder every single game until your are back in high ELO. This is also the main reason why duo/trio Q is the easiest way to climb back.

Bro, if anybody said me about year ago that matchmaking may be worse I would laugh my ass off, but now I am crying. I can still remember how we all talking about it, and riot replies to us, even replaced someone who answered for that system. There was huge vid from riot official channel about all the changes... But what the hell is happening this season? Im just can't understand it. It looks like riot wanting their game to ruin intentionally. I'm playing this game from very first day. It will be even worse. The game will get some new blood and returning players with Arcane season 2. After that, nothing much for a long long time. But there are quite a few mobile mobas still surviving in the West with relatively small communities, so the game is worth staying if you have or plan making some friends 🦊

When I discribed the matchmaking for my bro(real), he is half-pro in pc league, he said it's 100% unplayable🤣 Like, ranked should be competitive, rewarding, ranking players. @@looda4567 you don’t know what can be playable then. In my favorite mobile moba, the population of the global server has been small since its release and went through whole waves of people quitting the game. We survived Wild Rift release and its best years when it had esports. What does matchmaking look like in our moba? There are no matches at unpopular server times, when the majority of players are sleeping or busy with real life, or only 1-2 casual matches. Queue can be long, sometimes you won’t find a match within a few hours of queueing. Solo players get matched against premades, too. Duo, trio, full recruited team or a true premade (“we have an esports team at home”). Both in ranked and casuals. Smurfs are in every rank. 9/10 times you cannot find a match solo anyway so you need to queue as a full team. High ranked matches are full teams only due to that. There is no MMR or anything. You just need to find 4 people to play with you just for the sake of getting a match. There is no such thing as role guarantee - it’s up to your communication skills and stats to convince your teammates to let you have your role. If you don’t want to suddenly go rank without a jungler or with 2 midlaners etc., you should host these teams yourself and act as a team manager before every match, checking everyone’s profiles, kicking someone, suggesting which role everyone should play, resolving conflicts, recruiting specific players. The game is in its 6th year of life. It’s still being played and loved by many. It has never had any advertising in the West. Not compared to WR - it had no advertising ever. It has survived purely on its community’s love to the game. And btw it has much better balance than WR, no maphackers so far, and noone is complaining about bad matchmaking (bc it’s so horrible it’s not worth mentioning ahhhaha but everyone understands the reasons).

Since I watched your videos, me and my friends have agreed to forget kills and being a team, and just focus on the turrets, and it worked wonders 😂. My friend would use Pyke to bait the enemy team, while I would use Rengar for easy split pushing. We finally won games even though our teammates were literal clown 🤣

OMG TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. I am soloq player and have 5.0 kda. When i check my teammates kda, all of them have 3.0 kda and below. Some have 1.0 kda. It's really hell playing wild rift right now. I've validated a bunch of your findings. soloQ sucks as support, you're so often thrown on an all solo or troll inter team vs premades. Playing soloQ with "any position" checked helps a lot as long as you have a decent champ pool in every position. You're more likely to get good premades on your own team it seems. Playing duoQ support is ez, all my win streaks come that way. I have an alt account I haven't played on in a while and am going to try storming it to master and see how that goes For reference, I've made master the last 3 seasons and am only now just about to climb out of eme into dia (hopefully, sitting on eme1 right now) this season. also, here's a case of hair tonic I bought in bulk since we're all losing it, happy holidays!

mr broken i completely agree this season ive tried to play solo and its depressing, the most balanced games ive had are when i full stack you can obviously see there that most teams in full stack are either awful or are extremely good either in a macro or micro way some have both . But my duo and I have gone away from adc sup bc it doesn’t matter how good the two of us are when at least 1 out of our 3 teammates lost lane and doesn’t want to win if hes not the carry machine . But when I do it in 5 men, like when we 4 friends need to find the 5th guy, one players comes to join us. Also, when I want to join some party, I search online parties to play with. And again here, I never, literally never find any kind of online parties recruiting players, be it any kind of mode, pvp, rank, etc. Even after refreashing many times, the problem persists as it is. The feature worked properly when it was originally released, we were able to find parties to play with. Then it stopped working from like many seasons. Kinda amusing to see this game follow the route I was predicting at least a year ago within a certain small community where not a single person believed me back then. So let me try some more fortune-telling just for fun: what if in a year or sooner the ranked queue will be mainly for parties, and party finder will be where the real life will be, including various Discord servers and TG channels etc. This all has existed already, but it's not the main source of finding games yet. But the community will shrink even further, more players will be quitting with every season until Arcane season 2, and searching for a match even in the currently well-populated ranks like plat and emerald will start taking too long if not in a full party. Unfortunately, every mobile moba in the West comes to this. I thought WR could avoid this for longer tbh, but they don't bother, so it seems.

It hits hard that the dude that taugth me to play and carry soloq games as support is now telling me to stop playing solo q. But your're damn rigth. I got demoted to gold bro, i haven't been gold since i started playing 😂 one of the problems that really makes me lose games is the fact People don't react to good calls, like Rush nashor while jg is on the other part of the map, they just won't help me do the drake, then proceed to type jungle diff after they die split pushing with 0 wards😂 it's ok to be bad, but playing bad and flame others because of your mistakes is lame. And most of thoses dudes are hardstuck emerald-plat with 800+ games this season with 2.0 kda typing jg diff for no reason XD

I was hardstuck plat, until i started playing duo with a main adc. It hurts a lot, because i was master and now, when i can get out of plat thanks a winning streak, the game queue's me with afk, trolls or people who are trying a new champ without knowing how it works every attack. I'm otp support (mostly yuumi, nami, senna and sometimes naut or tresh if needed), but playing with people who dont know either where they are standing on the map, it's hard to win :/

I always felt like this matchmaking issue was overblown...then i went 4 SVP games in a row to get top 50 nautilus, then finally had a competent jinx where we went 2v8 to carry. We even had to kill elder and baron ourseleves bc our jax jungler was worse than a bot (and had a 0.5 average KDA and 65% win rate, of course)

I made it to Master playing soloQ, but as soon as I got there I got my role, (supp) taken away by duos which made me loss. Then when 1 was Master 0 points, I got as supp with a duo on my team of jg and adc. Who carried the game. Then I played another one with now the same adc and jg in the enemy team and I got destroyed, not because they were amazing, but because the duo I got this time were terrible af. But ok I said, I did something else for TWO HOURS, BROKEN, I'M NOT KIDDING, I TOOK A BREAK OF TWO HOURS, got into a match, and guess who I had on my enemy team?!?! The same damn jg and adc. And again, we got destroyed, not because they were amazing, but because the duo in my team was so damn terrible... So I got demoted to D1 again... First match as D1 again and I had to 1v9 with 4 low emeralds on my team with Swain (very strong right now) and just for fun, check my top profile who was 0/10. 60% WR with a 2.2 kda... How dude? Just to clerify. The jg and duo I was talking about had similar names due to being in the same guild + maybe knowing each other irl. While the other duos I had were some goofy ass people called, Itachi Uchiha + Marianita's Boyfriend or some sht. This is terrible, worse than ever before and I feel you more than ever. PD: Sorry for the long message if you happened to read it. PD2: I tried to get into a Legendary Ranked while I was Master just to try and it was over 10min time Q...

I mean i am in rank plastic rn because i havent played in 2 months and the games at gold are like the matches i had in high elo , im not complaining, i actually like it that the matches are hard , i dont like it when my enemy is bad , but i know still others get frustrated when they have an unbalanced match

That's exactly what I've thought since last season... And with this one, well I'm 200% sure of that. I play mainly support (thanks grandma broken for this 😁) and since my kda is pretty decent (7 or so on 200 games more or less) I find myself with teams of people that... Let's put this without using bad words... Are completely potatoes 😅 People that just copy paste builds without any idea, no macro at all, no idea of how to manage a wave.... You know what I mean 😂😂😂 Damn me to be a good soloQ person, that's so dumb lol

I think it's not my or our fault wanting to play soloq It's riot's job to solve this not forcing us to play duo if they just want to increase players. I believe some good players have left the game already. + I promise myself not topping the game or leaving the game for good if they don't solve the problems properly...

Solo Q is so unfair, at least until reaching Master tier, because from Master onwards I feel like most of the times I lose is cause the opponent was actually better and deserved to win

I thought matchmaking last season was pretty bad, however, this season is incredibly hard to climb. For whatever reason, my team is full of incompetent players (solo, duo, and even trio) while I'm facing a T1 players on wild rift. Not sure why its so hard to just get consistent decent players on my team. The matchmaking continues to become worse and worse as you climb and it needs to be fixed. Im losing sleep playing extra ranked games to get my marks back to where i left off for the night. I deserve a free skin from riot due to their lack of attention to the matchmaking.

I think talk about maphack is many important instaed of mr or kda. Beacuse for that shit we have now a huge difference in matchmaking. Beacuse all the children use that go like 2 o 3 and start help other climbing. So I think for us and for all the job you do, and for your "job" to raise awareness your comunity about that! Or not?! I can't understand this bs so bad. I don't get why would they ruin soloQ so much. I still remember and love the days of league PC where soloQ would be totally separate Q from the teamed ones, so your performance actually mattered... I just don't get why would they make soloQ experience so bad. I've gone through so many moments of frustration considering solo is my preferred que. Also regarding premade. So when you go duoQ with another high MMR player does it mean those other 3 players are even worse than 4 players when soloQ? Or why duo ends up better? Just because 2 good players have better chance of carrying 3 potatoes rather than 1 player carrying 4? Also instead of fixing matchmaking we are getting some Riotarded Chonc? Maybe they represent Wild Rift employees? Not doing shit but just burping and eating? Idk man. Sad times for WR :/

Starting from Gold to Diamond is Elo Hell no cap u get teammates who go 0/10 and then blame u for losing how you climb ? Simply Int every game and ur gonna get carried all matches

Im starting to see it myself. Played two games both support and both games with a mid and top duo that did poorly in both games. Mid laner was tf that went 0/11 and top yasuo that was 1/7. Theres absolutely nothing i can do about it when im playing nami and you cant call that skill issue when they are just playing that poorly
