I hope we get a Majin 21 cell (ironically he is the 21st android, but he just gave himself a name), a cell that looks like darkly-shaded-shadow DBS-Super cell after he absorb buu or fuses with good buu, too face kid buu. For one thing trunks, and Gohan will need cell, and his jr’s for the god ritual, cell do not need to be pure good, Videl was involved, when she was a few weeks pregnant, he just need to be a similar to Android saga Vegeta (the fact he tortured android 19, and was ok with letting Bulma, and baby trunks die, I would say cell after a few years of rivaling the saiyan’s, and exploring the universe, he will be fine) Honestly I see cell training too become the next god of destruction, cell is perfect for mastering Ultra ego, I see him just living on Beerus planet, training with both Beerus, and Whis (cell might sample some of Beerus blood while he sleeps, helping him grasp the power of a destroyer, but not killing Beerus, out of fear, and both want a serious rival, so cell wouldn’t want too end it that easily, and his pride would stop him) and he have a great chance of mastering ultra instinct, but cell is made with the flaws of all the beings he’s made of, his only way of achieving that is too let it all go, and embrace his power, and instincts, like Goku did in the tournament of power. If I’m being honest, I see Gohan gaining it similar to Goku, and cell cheating to get it, by Either getting Whis’s DNA training with him (Goku was able to bite Whis, I can see cell, getting a scratch on whis, after years or months of training.), absorbing some of Gohan’s DNA after he’s low on stamina after using omen, or my favorite, in the Moro arc, cell absorb Og73, having all of the techniques, and powers he copied, (Moro powers as well), after that cell just absorb or kills Moro, and cell copies Whis or Merus powers, and since he trained with Whis for all these years, he will not have the problems Moro did, and if his body explodes, cell will just be reborn far more powerful, in a new body that can permanently use mastered ultra instinct, and he can just infuse ultra ego into it, also he will have OG73 op healing added onto his, and Buu’s healing powers.

Power scaling in this video is what I believe is noted as "they will get as strong as the story lets them become" so in order for it to be interesting and not a obliteration Future Gohan needs to be toned down, and as for how cell is stronger than dabura, in canon it's mentioned that super perfect cell is stronger than dabura, BUT in this timeline he absorbed the majin boosted 17 and 18 (boost is similar to guru's boost) so he absorbed much stronger androids and became much stronger and would easily off dabura.

The whole energy situation was only meant for the seal of majin buu not buu himself, hence theres a pre-existing cap to how much energy is needed to *release* Buu, it didn't power him up or anything but just broke him out of the seal which should mean his power should stay roughly the same as in canon. The more plausible explanation should have been Gohan being weaker than his canon counterpart but that would still be a bit wonky to address. Tbh, Gohan should have absolutely destroyed everyone in the room. Hell, even Android 17 could wipe out fat Buu if he was toe-toe with Ultimate Gohan for a bit. It's kinda weird that fat buu just gets magically stronger.
