in the anime continuity i feel as if the goalpost had already moved to whis and it was hinted that goku now rivals or is on some level of on par or greater than beerus with mastered ultra instinct. in the manga though, since there is a clearer vision that beerus is the goalpost at the current time, all of the saiyans are still showing to be leagues away

I’m pretty confident that the UI technique wasn’t established yet in BoG, so we could just be talking about beerus without factoring in his knowledge and practice of UI. For sure we can say 70% of Beerus’ full power without UI. It’s a stretch but I’m just trynna make it make sense lol. Imo, I think Beerus’ power is exponentially increasing as he tries harder while saiyans have linear, multiplicative buffs like the SSJ forms other than red-haired SSG since that pushed Goku so far in power. Their power scaling and writing is a mess. SSG was too high of a jump, and then they immediately measure it up to Beerus’ 70%. Now they’re finding ways to retcon and lowball everyone else to make Beerus seem stronger.

Beerus is a moving line in the sand. When the line is crossed, the line moves back. If him only being 70% vs SSG Goku is still a thing then he should've been surpassed in RoF,, and again in each subsequent arc. But the writers keep jacking up his power. I will say that Beerus is stronger BUT Broly has HUGE POTENTIAL to surpass Beerus. After all, the official bio of Broly already state that his destructive power is even greater than the God of Destruction. With this, we can assume Broly already surpass some God of Destruction out there. Jiren himself surpass Belmod already so is not really surprised that Broly can beat Beerus later on. This is really just the writers validating Broly's strength. However if you want to break it down to who's stronger, just imagine Broly with the coaching, techniques, battle experience, and ki control of a god of destruction. They haven't revealed everything Beerus can do, but I'd say Broly's potential to surpass Beerus has to be very high because Goku and Vegeta are basically right there.

Well this interpretation although works perfectly fine for the original movies, it does not really hold up for Dragon Ball Super as Goku in the both the manga and anime has seen Beerus go all-out. In the anime, Goku witnesses Beerus vs Champa twice where both are actually trying to kill the other. And in the manga, the gods are all told to go all-out, and we even see Beerus struggling against a few gods. And Hoku witnesses the whole fight. Now Goku does reveal after the fight that he can’t sense God Ki, but even when watching the fight he could still properly scale how strong he was compared to the destroyers. So the Broly to Beerus line works, but there are some things that back both sides of who is stronger

Goku then proceeds to call Moro the strongest opponent he's ever faced right after stomping him. That Moro proceeds to get stronger by copying Merus' powers and still loses to Goku (though with help because of the energy drain). Mind you that when things started to get out of control Beerus planned to destroy Moro, which might or might not have saved the Earth, too. In the next saga, Granolah wishes to be the strongest in the universe, by default surpassing Broly as well as a stronger Goku (and Vegeta), but by definition couldn't surpass Beerus. And don't let me get started on how all three grew after that. That said, I think that was a throwaway line with the sole purpose of giving credence to the promotional material (the same kind of material that implies Gohan Beast and Cell Max to be stronger than Gogeta and Broly), which should be obvious given it meant nothing in the nearly four and a half years and three sagas that came after.

I think in the future, broly will be able to be stronger power wise. We have seen vegeta punch through a gods of destructions awaking Hakai. Now that broly is training with the two saiyans and whis if he can manage to pass his mental block of that rage and make it into some unique then he could go toe to toe with Beerus. The only thing letting Broly down even with higher power is lack of control and actual fighting experience and style. So really it's just if broly can surpass his emotions and control them in a different way. I can see broly being the "jiren" of their universe and being stronger then their own God of destruction, just with the lack of fighting experience and expertise like jiren

All these people saying Broly could take Beerus are CRAZY! 1• we haven’t seen beerus at full strength. He used 70% on Goku. Beat him badly too! I also imagine that extra 30% is insanely a huge power up. 2• Beerus took on ALL of the other Gods of destruction from the other universes at ONCE….. and he won. That’s the most powerful from 11 different universes and he took them all 3• it’s freakin Beerus man. At some point soon, I could see beerus getting humbled by Broly but not beaten…. Yet. Like I could see Beerus kinda playing around and Broly beat the brakes off Beerus till Beerus regains compossure & then tears Broly apArt. 4• I don’t think it’s time yet, but may be the future. See #3, & at the moment Beerus is stronger. Give Broly Time and he may take out Beerus because Broly might be that Legendary Super Saiyan that was floating in the sun that Beerus dreamed about. He thought Goku may have been it and was disappointed. I just don’t think Broly can take Beerus yet, honestly depends on how much longer DBSuper will be. Statements from Whis also have some plot holes in it. When training both goku and vegeta, Whis says if they work together they can defeat Beerus. In manga, shin says vegito blue was stronger than Beerus only for later on a vegeta far stronger to be bodied by beerus. so leaves us wondering exactly how strong beerus actually is and how strong full powered broly actually is. granola and gas was the strongest in the universe until frieza left the other dimension and came back. before that ue vegeta states that granola isn't the strongest because he doesn't have mastery over his power. and broly doesn't have mastery over his power or transformations, so exactly how powerful would broly be if he transformed in the latest manga chapters or movie/episodes. thats my question

I actually don't have a major problem with this. I believe it was stated the beerus only used 70% power against God transformation. Goku was fighting broly, untamed, full continuous rising potential after his father's death. The entirety of the time goku fought beerus it was controlled, and more of a back and fourth test of strength. Broly on the other hand wanted all the smoke that's ever existed, whilst losing his mind to the power he was unlocking. That was a God fight.
