Bromine is scary

Bromine is chemically very similar to chlorine, except chlorine is a gas and bromine is a liquid. It's one of the only elements that exists as a liquid at room temperature (the other is mercury), and it's also one of my favorite elements!

The general population has less of a skin reaction to bromine than chlorine and thus less people affected worldwide. It also creates that distinctive smell you associate with their rides. Bromine is more expensive than chlorine so doing it small scale isn’t very cost effective. But the quantities Disney needs makes it a prudent investment
