Brompton is like buying into a lifestyle. Tbh a lot of clones like the ones mobot has are good enough. And I would suspect the many alternatives forced brompton to innovate finally 😛 But for sure you’re buying into a community as well and brompton higher resale value.

Very enjoyable! The Barbour special edition model that you showed near the start is of course a conventional steel model, but I know you were just telling us about models in part or "full" Titanium that are also available. I am loving that Amble Sands color for the Barbour model, and the lovely colors of it's included luggage accessories.

Brompton, the king of folding bikes . . . so they say. I wonder how it stacks up against the Royal model you both have been riding? Glossy finishes, absolutely! Adds a little bling ✨. Made in London. There was a time when England led the world in bicycle production. Apparently the Raleigh plant in Nottingham was massive back in the early 1900's. They knocked out over 100,000 bikes a year, and that was huge for that time period. Raleigh bikes have a place in my heart as it was the first bike I owned as a kid. Kids back then held Raleigh in high esteem. Yep, it warmed my heart whenever I saw a Raleigh logo, even more so today. I would so love to get my hands on a restored Raleigh bike. Nothing quite like it. Well, for me, anyway. Enjoyed the video very much. Did you extend your time in Singapore? As I recall, I believe you mentioned that it would be a weeks stay. If that be the case, you both have crammed a lot of activity in that time frame. A repair location at the mall, and even showers. It seems that many Asian countries are so much father ahead with amazing amenities such as this. It saddens me, when I think that here in the US we have NOTHING like this. We are so locked in the past.

I used to own a Pikas and ridden on friend's 3sixty before becoming proud owner of a brompton, I must say the build quality of brompton is worth the price

@LLF1234 I think 3sixty is better built than Pikes. But compared to Brompton, is heaven and earth level. Brompton build quality is top notch and the internal hub is so much more efficient than Pikes/3sixty. I can go beyond 35kph easily on Brompton but is a struggle on Pikes/3sixty

First thought when I noticed shower sign was to hose off the dirt off bikes, didn’t think bikers would take a shower out in public. But, given the local weather & humidity, I guess the shower makes perfect sense when meeting friends for meal at mall. We should have that here in Canada for summer season.

Excellent tour Cruis. I hope that the shop owners appreciated the fine advertising job you did for them. Here in the UK, there are some staunch devotees of the brand, saying that it is the Rolls Royce of folding bikes. Sadly , they can be seriously costly.

I don’t think they’re doing single speeds or custom builds any more so I’m pretty glad I got mine when I did. And as much as I’m curious to ride / lift the special titanium and carbon one, I feel as if they’re going in the wrong direction. Or at least do that and make a belt driven one at the same time. Something to set them apart in another way. Rather than just going after sports riders with a super light derailleur equipped model.

Hi there Cruise. Here is a question specifically for you. Are there special "Asian foot" cycling shoe sizes in stores that you've visited in Asia? Bont and Lake are two popular brands in Asia and they have shoes that are wide fit and I've heard that this is actually the most common size offered in Asia. Have you seen this and if so, could you show it in an upcoming video (for Santic brand, or any other)? Thanks.

Hey! first to comment! I collect bikes like I collect fleas all cheap 2nd hand stuff, one which I love riding is a 24" MTB, allways thought if they brought out a folding duel suspension with a massive chain ring and basic eight speed cassette, standard 32T-11T I would buy it, big big chain ring up front 70T+for those days with strong tail winds where you can get up and boogy, then have the ability to fold it up to travel on train/bus/air.

Thanks! I think right now the best case for us would be an e-road or e-mtb for Thuong so we can both get an equal workout in on our rides. Not sure I'd want one for myself unless I wanted to keep up on faster rides as I get older. Or maybe a sick cargo bike / commuter would be cool if I were daily commuting again.

Brompton surely looks very sleek, but wondering if the ease of riding is much better than more affordable alternatives. I guess some people buy Brompton in a way people buying branded bags, etc, feeling that owning it is a status symbol (or not? 😅).

It's a lot to do with trustworthy after-sale customer service tbh. As bikes need regular maintenance and folding bikes use non-standard parts, you need to make sure you'll have access to parts and service when you need it. A friend of mine got a clone and when one part broke there was no replacement available so he wasn't able to ride that bike anymore.

These are Singapore dollars, but yeah they are not cheap. You can get much cheaper foldable bikes with good ride quality, but they may not have as convenient as a folding system.

I've been riding this bike for about a month kzbin.infoUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
