Nice tour i am a noob when it comes to bikes so your videos give alot of good information. I like the red bike on the right. I don't know if it was the lighting but it looked like a brighter red than the other one. Also here in the US the bikes come with training wheels and then you get them taken off when it is time for you to learn how to balance lol. So balance bikes isn't really a thing over here. Great video.

The balance bikes are becoming really popular here in Canada. They are great for kids to learn to practice as well my daughter has down syndrome and at first didnt have the muscle or the understanding of how to pedal, so the balance bike was perfect

Definitely the left Pinarello out of those two. The colour scheme is a bit nicer I think, and it has disc brakes. I used to be into fully white bikes when I was younger but now in my 30s I would only get white if it was mixed with a lot of black components. My first road bike was a Specialized Allez with white frame, fork, stem, bar tape. The whole thing. And I love single speeds. I feel like I miss having a full sized single speed. The Brompton single speed is great but doesn’t feel quite the same. But I can’t have 10 bikes. Got to be somewhat responsible. Also great to see Victor on the channel.

Hi Cruise, all the young kids start riding with balance bikes here in So Cal. The advantages to them is kids can start riding at a younger age and skip training wheels all together. My friend’s little girl started riding on one at 2 years old, than straight to a pedal bike at 3-1/2 and now is 4-1/2 and rides so well. Confident and excellent balance. Rides dirt trails in the local mountains too. As a cyclist myself I can see she is very competitive. So when covid is under control, I’ll definitely enter her is some fun kids races. The balance bike she used was made by schwinn, cheaper price. The more popular brand of kids bikes are made by Whoom. They are imported from Austria, and as you guessed it, are expensive. Anyways, balance bikes are great to get kids riding allot younger. Myself I was about 6 or 7. I’m still riding and I’m 65 now. Raced road bikes in the 80’s, and mountain bike Racing in the 90’s. I’ll never stop riding. I’ve always loved riding, I feel so free on a bike. Like flying. 😀

Balance bikes are very popular in North America as well. For young kids to run with their balance bikes with their legs, it helps with them learning how to balance on the bikes and when they transition to pedal bikes, they can easily transition to them without relying on training wheels. Worked like a charm with my daughter!
@TwoWheelCruise4 жыл бұрын

My daughter could not figure out how to balance while pedaling. Instead, she leaned on one “training” wheel or the other, and would fall sometimes due to leaning too hard. After thinking about it for a few days, I recalled I learned how to ride a bike by finding a gently sloped driveway and coasting down it with my legs out to the side so I could learn how to balance before figuring out how to balance while pedaling. I turned her bike into a balance bike by removing the training wheels and pedals and told her to push herself along, and I’d replace the pedals once she learned how to balance without them. She was annoyed with me, probably because the other kids asked her why her bike was different from theirs. But, she did learn how to balance within a week. I’m glad balance bikes are common now so beginning riders don’t have to worry about whacking their ankles on the cranks, and they don’t carry any stigma. But, you don’t need to get one, just start them without pedals on their first bike until they can push ride well.

Training wheels caused so much trouble, and many scraped knees and elbows. I’m glad the process now starts kids on learning how to balance by push riding first before adding the motion of pedaling. It’s amazing how quickly they learn how to ride without the misdirection of “training wheels”.

Wow, teaming up with one of the OG Japan KZbinrs! It's always interesting to see display bikes with no bar tape - do they let you pick if you buy it? I recently got a suspension stem for my cross bike, since I've been riding more fire roads and singletrack on it lately and not cross. I had to sell my mountain bike a while ago, and I sure do miss my Marzocchi Bombers when I'm on the trails! My neighbour's daughter has a little balance bike. She's about 3-4 years old. She's just learning to balance and sit on a bike, and it's easier for her to put her feet down, and isn't totally comfortable yet, so she can also push herself along with her feet. It's adorable to watch her scoot around.

Agreed. "Balance bikes" (aka push bikes) are popular in the US for toddlers because they haven't learned to ride a 2 wheel bike without training bikes yet. For them, they're more fun than just walking and easier and more safe, not to mention cheaper (would out grow in 1-2 years anyways), than a regular bike. Think of them as preschool for bikes. 🚲👼😅
