Brompton Swytch Front Wheel Spin Test

Just a quick test for the Switch kit support team to confirm whether my front wheel has more friction than they would expect

On my Swytch kit, rotating backwards has a lot of resistance.

I have 2 swytch kits. One from the previous gen on a normal 27.5 inch wheel, and one on a brompton using the latest gen kit. The Brompton gets has the large amount of resistance you are seeing here. The older kit behaves like a normal wheel where it will keep on spinning for a long time. Their web site says 'High-torque motor wheel with no drag so you can cruise freely with the Power Pack on or off'. This has a lot of drag. Swytch sent me another wheel, but it has the same issue. Latest email I have from them says they have checked and this is normal...

Agreed, though I'm afraid I just ended up making peace with it and haven't really had any issues. Their support agent replied to my ticket with the link to this video saying "The mechanics of the wheel seem to be in good order." so I assume it's normal.

I seem to have the same problem have spent a long time trying to loosen everything but maybe it is what it is. Have you found riding with battery ok?

This is about the same resistance my Brompton experiences. Would be interested to know if this is normal or whether Swytch ever got back to you?

I wouldn't say I got a super clear response about whether this is "normal", but they did reply "The mechanics of the wheel seem to be in good order" to my support ticket email, so I didn't chase it further and just continued to use it as-is.

Hahaha thanks for replying. Yep I guess the drag is there.. but well. Sometime should jus enjoy the ride. A little drag I guess is fine :)
