Thank you very much for this useful information. It just happens me today, though my t-line series# is 230804. I found all 4 screws were quite loose. Maybe because I bike commuting to work and need to cross to a bumping railway tracks twice daily. Need to check those screws more frequently.

My four steering bolts suddenly came loose and misaligned one morning several months after I purchased my new T-Line. Not impressed with the several different noises that would start occurring from different parts of the bike. Now sold and now bought a single speed Hummingbird with carbon wheels - fantastic for Central London!!

The skirt totally suits the Brompton. Lycra nicely hidden? 😬. Seems a shame a zillion dollar T Line has issues. For the price you’d think they’d self repair. Lol

I want to buy a T-Line and I have taken it for a test ride. I love it but I can't decide between the flat bar or the M bar. I'm 152 mm tall (6 feet) and I like the looks of the flat bar but being hunched over could hurt my back over a long ride. I could add Ergon grips or Spirgrips for added height. Or I can go with the M bar and add bar end grips if needed. plus I'm completely confused. I like the flat bar but the M bar might be more practical for my height. I did watch your video talking about all the different handlebars Brompton offers. I'm still confused though. Any thoughts?
@brilliantbikes3 ай бұрын
It really is personal preference, sorry, which one is more comfortable. Worst case with the T line you can change the handle bars and cables over. Thanks for watching!

I just re-torqued my T-line and received a thank you confirmation from Brompton. Would you happen to know what the original torque was from the factory? Judging by the amount I had to tighten the bolts, I'm guessing it came out of the factory at 4 Nm.
@brilliantbikes3 ай бұрын
The original was 5Nm (so pretty good guess based on feeling)

At least my old 2019 Superlight had a list of torques in the Users Guide? I should suppose that a T-line also has those? Finn. Denmark

I think it might be wise to skirt around different problems when it comes to carbon and steel in this case titanium not really a match made to go together, obviously could be wrong more worryingly might be right ,

Ehh, honestly my old 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton now, with a lot of changed parts to titanium and carbon, weigh the same as a 4 speed T-line, with mudguards, as a Dane, and for a much less price 😄! And if changing the stem post to Titanium, I would save a little extra, but it isn't worth the cost, for me. It is well below 9 kilo by now. Finn. Denmark

I think you are just too powerful for the bike and the torque you put through the frame is distorting the alignment of the grubbit nut and causing the the forks to twist to one side . You might have to slow down a bit before the whole thing disintegrates with catastrophic consequences 😮 .

As an old Danish Craftman, I would most naturally cross-tension the four bolts, for an equal effect and functioning in both sides, but it isn't what is recommended by Brompton, it seems? And having your handlebar and stem post becoming loose while riding, will at best be, at least surprising! But my present and - much modified, now rather also much less than my former 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton will only give an absolutely minute weight advantage, compared to a new T-line, and with an absurd high price difference, as my present bike is now below 9 kilo, and still with mudguards (And also still looking fully Original)! But near all loose parts are now from carbon and titanium! So I think I will wait till eventually Brompton has found out to actually make a "Finished Bike" out of the T-line Model, also from all the Test-Work that the present Customers has done for the Firm, for free! 😄 Finn. When you say "Finished Bike" what do you mean? Are you saying that Brompton still needs to refine the T-Line? What do you suggest would be improvements? Brompton spent millions of dollars on R&D on the T-Line. I expect that it is a "Finished Bike." I could be wrong.
@finncarlbomholtsrensen11883 ай бұрын
@@davidhunternyc1 Well, Brompton has made huge "Holes" by the hinges, for some strange reason?? And those let in water and - gravel during rides, able to reach the - inside and on top of the crank though the Frame Tubing!!! Also on the ballcage holding the Fork, as complained about many times!! This is a simple thing to be made better, at least! The new hinges with the extra guides are fine and also the new Pins to be exchanged when worn! As the hinges by the triangle are now more maintenance friendly. Finn. Denmark

Every purchase of a manufactured item becomes a TEST... ... just as soon as that item is put into use. In this regard, bicycles and their components are no different to, say, dishwashers... (etc. etc. etc.) Thing is, I have rather more confidence in Brompton than I do in Boeing, which is definitely NOT how it should be!
