A chance for a quick run in the woods this afternoon so I took the Bronco to see how it compared against the SCX10ii from last week.
The Bronco is lightly modified - lowered 10mm and running SCX10ii metal shocks, the body has been lowered a similar amount on the posts and a set of 3D printed inner arches fitted. The rear shocks have been outboarded to reduce torque twist and a set of rear upper link risers brackets fitted for the same reason.
Wheels and tyres are Chinese specials off eBay, I will buy a genuine set of Dick Cepek tyres now I know the size is OK - heck of a gamble between £15 for the copies and £60 for the originals if they turn out to be wrong (I had already been down that road with a set of Pitbulls that were way too narrow for the body).
The servo is a PowerHD 20kg waterproof job, fitted after the standard servo lasted one run. The ESC, receiver and trans are all standard for the moment although the ESC needs replacing - the drag brake is way to hard for my liking and the throttle progression seems inconsistent too - thats my excuse for the brisk pullaways and sudden braking anyway!
Overall its a great little rig and it never fails to amaze what it will get over with tyres only 3.9" tall. The weather was great today, mis September and still 21C in the late afternoon, I could get used to this!
